If the rumours were true and it was about Khan and his people on Ceti Alpha V, it's no loss.

I'd have loved an alternate history (with regard to ours) 1990's-set movie about Khan conquering a third of the world and finally being exiled to space.

I absolutely HATE the idea of it being about Khan, or having Khan be part of it in any way. Move on.
