So I've been noticing a trend. I usually feel the worst around the same time each month. Of course, I also have had anniversaries of stuff the last couple months around the same time. So I'm not sure if it's coincidence or not.

Started feeling crappy Sunday night. Thought it was because of the TV show I watched before bed, had some triggers in it. Yesterday night was also bad and now today too.

I get to see my nephews tonight though, first time since Feb, so that's good.

I have a vacation in two weeks, week long road trip down around Lake Ontario, up through Niagara Falls, play at Stratford, see friends I haven't seen in a few years, one night at each of my parents.

Still not a relaxing vacation. I have issues taking time to relax. It feels like a waste. I have a week in October my girlfriend wants us to do a Mexican resort. Just a week of doing nothing. I need the break despite feeling like it's a waste so will probably do it.

One good thing, despite having a bad nights of sleep, on average, I've now had the best, most consistent sleep I've had in years. I have averaged a minimum of seven hours a night every night for the last seven weeks. Beating my previous beat stretch of 6 weeks in December. Before which I never got anywhere close to that. I average 20 min more of sleep a night than I did a year ago, and 40 min more than two years ago.

This is around the time of year that I experience burn out from work. It’s been hard to get a pet sitter for much needed trips.

Even if you have no where to go, maybe take some days off to rest up at home.

I honestly don’t understand triggers. Way after my time. We referred to people as thick or thin skinned. If stuff bothered you, you were considered thin skinned and told to develop thicker skin. Amazing how much times change.

What kind of pet do you have? If you can travel with them, you can usually find pet friendly hotels, or other places you can stay with them.

Anyone has days where they're stuck in bed not wanting to get up?

Usually when I'm sick, I want to sleep it off. The last time I was sick I slept 16+ hours two days in a row. It's like the feeling you get when you get the COVID booster and all you want to do is sleep. Ever since I've had COVID, that's how my body now wants to heal itself when sick with anything. Super frustrating.

However, I don't usually have the option to stay in bed. My dog is pretty damn demanding. If you want a reason to get out of bed, get a super big dog that's demanding. Your dog won't give you a choice.

Some good news. Homeless situation averted
That's fantastic!
So I've been working on the job hunt over the last couple weeks, and I haven't been able to find anything interesting on any of the job sites or craigs list.
So I'm down to three options, calling the stables and leaving voicemail this time, following @Commander Troi recommendation and contacting Vocational Rehabilitation, or giving the grocery store another try.
The thing I realized with the grocery store is that it's not Wal-Mart, so I won't have to deal with the evil assholes that manage the Wal-Marts, and if I can get on the floor I won't have to deal with the constant flow of customers I had no choice but to deal with when I worked at the meat counter at the other store after I left Wal-Mart.
The thing with Wal-Mart is that literally ever person above department manager is just a mean, horrible person, and it's not just me who feels this way, my mom agrees with me, and I've talked to a few other current and former associates, who feel the same way. When someone moves that high up at Wal-Mart they go a special management school, and we've come to the conclusion the school must teach and encourage them to be as rude and mean the associates under them as possible. There were people who were really nice when they were lower in the store hierarchy, but then moved up and went to the school, and came back mean, and nasty, and rude to everybody below them.
Now the other store where I'm thinking about going is a Fry's, which is part of Kroger, and my mom's talked to some of the people who work there, and they've said everybody there is nice, and they've never been yelled at or anything like that. So if that is true, that would make things easier for me, and if I'm on the floor stocking and organizing things, I would have a lot less interactions with the customers, and even when I did most of them would be a lot quicker than when I was at the meat counter, which was actually another Fry's.

Seems reasonable.

Yeah, there is retail experience and then there is Walmart retail experience. The two should not be compared together. My wife did several years at the Walmart Deli and hated it. She did multiple stints in other customer service positions and had no issue. Walmart is the quintessential "kiss up/kick down" style chain of command, unfortunately. You have to be a dick to survive.

At this point, my going back to retail is pretty much because I really can't come up with any other options. Where we are the majority of jobs you don't need special training or a degree for are mostly retail or restaurants, and between the two retail is my better option. If we lived closer to downtown Phoenix there'd be more options, but that's way to far to go on a regular basis. There are a few other things, like the stables, but nowhere near what I'd find in other parts of The Valley.
