Men of a Certain Age

Garm Bel Iblis

Commodore
Anyone watch the premiere last night? I have it tivo'd and will be watching it when i get home. been reading great things about it.

I also recorded it. Don't know when I'll get around to watching it, but it looks interesting.

I am taping it tonight--I guess it is a replay. Which is good since I wanted to see this show after seeing the trailer for it.

Looks interesting. Hope so.

LOL I recorded it, too.

Has anyone watched it yet?

I saw only about half an episode, and I can't say I was hooked. But that's definitely not enough to make a fair judgment.

I am pretty sure a big part of any problems I have with this show will be Ray Romano, unless he's become a better actor than he was on Everybody Loves Raymond. Though I know others find him hilarious, to me he was the weak link in that show, so it's hard to imagine him doing well with a dramedy like this one. But we'll see.

To me, too.

But I'd watch anything for Andre Braugher.

I remember being pretty interested in what I saw from a commercial, but I have yet to find the time to check out the premiere episode. Sounds like it's worth seeking out though.

This looks like quite a shift for Ray Romano, so that part alone has my interest, and I like the rest of the casting too. I'll check this out when the season 1 DVD comes out.

I enjoyed the premiere, and I'll stay with the show for the rest of its run. I like the three lead actors, and I'm also delighted that Penelope Ann Miller will be around in a recurring role.

My wife and I watched it. We both liked it and found it quite funny. The humor is very dry. Neither of us could stand "Everyone loves Raymond" but Ray is good in this, still a little neurotic, but not in that annoying way.

We will definitely be tuning in in the future.

I checked it out, mostly because of Scott Bakula. It was actually better than I thought it would be. I laughed out loud a number of times throughout.

It's just clicking with me -- enjoying it alot. It's not "Great! Wow!", but it's good and with enough potential just in the opening nine minutes, for me already thinking about giving the whole season a try.

The humor is just right for it, there are funny moments (not comedy show funny styled moments, but dry humor) and the lead trio work well together.

I didn't see a compsoer credited in the opening (might have missed it), but so far one score cue and it didn't feel right. The show could use a laid back kind of guitar scoring approach, much like efforts Greg Edmonson provided for "King of the Hill" (Edmonson, also worked on Bakula's "Qauntum Leap", by the way....).

Watched the pilot tonight, and even though I can't relate to the "men of a certain age," I was quite entertained by it and actually had a few laugh out loud moments. Of course, I missed the second episode because I waited so long to watch the pilot.

I thought fantasy woman looked hotter with more clothes on at the beginning.

Can catch the second episode online at the TNT site.

For some odd reason, IMDB is showing them airing episode 4 next and skipping #3.
