Mega-Poll #1 : Your Favorite Doctor

if i had to choose just one Doctor it would be the Second Doctor. the Fourth comes in a close number two for me. also pretty fond of the Seventh.

I voted for Eleven, partly because NuWho actually has a pretty consistent overall characterisation, partly because Smith owns the part while retaining Ten's "Doctorishness" and partly because of the excellent scriptwriting led by Steven Moffatt.

I'm not sure I can pick a favorite, and if I did, it would probably change after watching a run of his episodes.

I did enjoy McCoy's performance, more than most seem to have, and pertwee, I can't imagine anyone disliking. Smith, I think, since he's still in the role, needs another season under his belt, to be properly judged, IMHO. He very well may own the part even more in his second series and take votes away from others.

Seriously, The Scrap...er Junk...er...Valleyard? Well, I suppose he did have a full season, so if Eccelston, Smith, and of course McGann count....

i actually had to think about this for a few seconds. i could've cheerfully gone for Three, Two, Eleven or Seven as well as Ten.

why did i finally go for Ten? probably because he was partnered with my favourite companion: Donna.

Oh I know! I mourned his departure for the past 4 years. After "The 11th Hour" aired I was like, "Christopher who?" Smith is such a great Doctor, and so cute and adorable too.

As with a lot of folks, these "favorite" polls are always tough because all the Doctors have some cool quality to them....except McCoy

I guess my faves would be Nine, Four and One.

While Four is THE Doctor for most of my generation, and while his face is still the first image to pop into my head when hearing "Doctor Who".....I voted for Nine as it was Nine that made me a fan of the show. Not just nuWho, but Classic Who as well.

Several years ago I wanted to have a few serials from each Doctor.....which has since turned into a shit load of DVD's and a great love of the classic series, all thanks to Nine.

Eleven, followed by Ten, then Nine then Four. Four might be higher as he was the first Doctor I saw but I didn't see an awful lot of him. Ditto Five, who'd probably be next.

Not surprised at the Eleventh being on top though. The current Doctor usually is on forum polls.

Normally I bemoan the fact that the incumbant wins these kinds of things, but in this case, well call me a hypocrite but Smith for pretty much owning the role from the second he clambered out of the library/swimming pool

After him probably Davison, Troughton, Tennant and Eccleston in variable order. Really there's never been a truly terrible Doctor though.

One thing I've noticed around these boards is when it comes to Doctor/Companion, people change minds really easily. What I mean is taking Tennant for example. When he was Doctor everyone loved him. Now that Smith is in the role, people decide they didn't like Tennant. The best example is the comparison between Martha and Donna. Interesting how stuff like that always works.

QFT. Ultimately, these polls are predictable. The incumbent comes in first and Tom Baker, by virtue of his longevity and therefore ubiquity, comes in second. It's Who-ever (pun intended) is most on people's minds at the moment.
