Meeting Shatner - What NOT to say & do

I met Jennifer Lien about six years ago at what I think has been her only UK appearance to date.

She was essentially a female version of Shatner. Didn't look up, speak, acknowledge anyone, and she wasn't busy. If she's agoraphobic in some way, or has anxiety problems, then I suppose it's fair play to her, and she has to be given credit for doing the appearance, but it wasn't a memorable meeting.

Then why do you remember it?

I don't blame an actor for not being a Trek or sci-fi fanatic. I couldn't care less if Shatner remembers the name of an episode or has ever paid attention to Star Trek since he left it.

How dare he not know the exact phase modulation of the warp drive!

When I met George Takei, I told him that I loved him in the Roast of William Shatner. He smiled but he confessed that he felt like he was the Roastee himself. I told him that he gave as good as he got; he gave a genuine smile and firm nod and simply said, "Thank you."

I know the convetion in Las Vegas both Shatner,Takei & Nimoy will be there.They were all there last year but on different days. Nimoy & Shatner were there on the same day and on the same day again this year. But Takei will again be at the convetion this year but different day. Shatner & Nimoy will be there Saturday and Takei on Thursday. I went to the convetion last year and ment Shatner,Nimoy,Quinto,Frakes & Spinner. I'm thinking of meeting them again this year, of course there is no word if Quinto will be there again this year or not. But all the other ones I ment last year will again be there this year.I also plan metting Takei, since I didnt get to last year.

Today William Shatner was announced as a guest at the London Film & Comic Con this year, which will be held on July 17-18th. He'll be appearing both days, have talks and photo-ops.

Are you the guy on the LFCC forum who booked into EasyHotel? If so - my GF has just booked us in there too after your post.

I've thought of this already... tempted to mention TJ Hooker as I'm sure he'll be tired of all the Trek comments by the tie I see him.

I've also decided NOT to ask him about George Takei's wedding.
