Anyone who likes mecha games might enjoy this one. I've been playing since the original engine first rolled out to the public, and I think they've made some good progress with it. It's free to join, but you need a one-time character upgrade (Star Captain's commission) to access the full game. It's not a monthly fee, and I think the rewards that come with the price are fair.

I know, it's a really awesome game. I stopped playing for about 4 years and had to recover my password, which involved 3 tries to guess the right e-mail that I signed up with.
