McG gives info on deleated ''Darker'' T4 ending.

wouldn't that ending also fuck with film canon?

Terminator doesn't really have a canon so much. It's a franchise about time manipulation, after all.
Still, its too over the top.

I don't think I'd like that direction, but I don't think it'd be over-the-top. The trailer does emphasize that the war is very different this time around and that Skynet seems to be advancing much faster than it had previously.

Judgment Day can't be avoid no matter what they do.

Says T3, which contradicts T2. I like T2 better.

I think the only to consistent events is John Connors forms/leads the resistance and Judgment Day can't be avoid no matter what they do.

Aren't we forgeting the whole Kyle is John's father thing.
I don't count that one done and dusted just yet. If things keep changing, there's no guarantee that, at the end, that Kyle-- or at least the Kyle we know-- will actually be his father.

I'm so glad they changed the ending after everyone complained about how lame JC Term would have been. That alone is a pretty stupid idea, however EVERYONE dieign and no explaining why?! How would sequels have been made?

Simple you make the next movie about another "John Connor", and guy stepping up and trying to fill the shoes and be the symbol. You explore the myth, the message, and which is better a living symbol that can die or a enduring myth and message that transcends the flesh.

I can't see them making sequels with either of those "darker" Terminator Salvation endings.
Work has already begun on a new film and, based on the early comments I've heard, I would have preferred the darker ending.

Skynet learns how to transport metal through time and sends an army of Terminators, Hunter Killers, Harvesters, etc to our time.

I think this ending might be even worse. Looks like I might be 0-2 for liking the summer sci-fi movies this year. :(

wouldn't that ending also fuck with film canon? (the first mentioned ending, I wrote something similar to the second one years ago, i have about 12 short stories that I'm thinking of getting the terminator license and publishing)

The authors for the Titan books run have already been selected. Essentially if you haven't been writing in Sci-Fi for the last 20 years they will ignore you. Alan Dean Foster is writing and original story based on the events of the film (he wrote the T4 novelization) and Zahn has been approached for another novel following.

That won't happen in this film, it's the premise for the next one.

Ugh, guess I'll be skipping the next one, then.

The floated premise of Skynet sending metal back to our time and waging the future war now is utterly ridiculous. If that is where they are taking the terminator franchise, I think I am checking out after this latest movie.

^Exactly!

Time travel itself is rather stupid. I was hoping these would show the history of what we already kind of know about but expand on it, and NOT go back in time to change history. If the robots themselves can go back in time anytime they want, then they should just go back in time a million years and kill everything.

Well if they go back in time a ''MILLION'' years and kill everything, they will be killing the creatures that will eventually create the terminators! so that my be a bad idea! just like it is to send terminators back to our time before the war ever begins. WAITAMINUTE! if they were not capable of sending metal back in time HOW THE HELL DID ARNIE GET HERE? Isn't he metal under all that skin?

It sounds like the ending could wind up on the DVD. The DVD is going to have 30-40 mins of deleted scenes according to McG

Amongst the scenes being cut include John Connor giving Sarah Connor-esque speeches, Moon Bloodgood topless, and the alternate ending.

So umm ya can I just get the DVD first instead of the theater release? K thnx.
