What are some books where McCoy plays a big part?

Howard Weinstein's The Better Man comes to mind as strongly McCoy-focused (the German title is more revealing: McCoys Tochter, which back-translates verbatim to McCoy's Daughter), though I read it so long ago I have no memories of whether I liked it.

The most notable is probably Doctor's Orders where Kirk leaves McCoy in command to teach him a lesson about griping. Of course, the landing party goes missing and Klingons show up. He also plays a major role in Dreams of the Raven, Bloodthirst, The Romulan Way and Crisis on Centaurus

Good story and portrays McCoy as a more believable 23rd century human than the ass-scratching hick he is sometimes written as.

Doctor's Orders is the best McCoy centric book.

Spock's World has the best McCoy scene in trek lit.

I've been reading Doctor's Orders and it is indeed quite good, both as a novel and as a McCoy story. Dreams of the Raven I quite liked. Those are the two really McCoy-centric novels I would recommend.

Shadows on the Sun is a bit of a downer, if you hadn't guessed from the title, but also very focused on McCoy. The Better Man was . . . okay, from what I remember. Bloodthirst is pretty good. The Romulan Way is quite good. I was a bit put off by the love interest factor in Covenant of the Crown, but otherwise I think it was fine. Spock's World just has McCoy delivering a speech, and that's really about it for him IIRC.

The Tos novel Choices of Catastrophies McCoy has a major role in this novel a lot of great moments for McOy and the Enterprise crew in this novel.It's a great book I highly recommend it.Especially if you're a fan of Dr. McCoy.

It's been a while since I read it, but I believe McCoy plays a fairly prominent role in the Mere Anarchy novella Shadows of the Indignant. It's part of the six part Mere Anarchy miniseries, which was originally released as a e-book miniseries before being collected in a single trade paperback.

I'm currently in the midst of reading Christopher L. Bennett's Ex Machina, and there is a significant McCoy presence and focus in the novel. Really enjoying it so far, too!
