Dr. M'Benga loves research. This must be why MCcoy replaced him as CMO. Why is M'Benga goofing around with blue and red test tubes? Even today there are automated chemistry analyzers. Nobody fools around with test tubes unless they are in High School.

I would imagine that M’Benga’s test tubes have fancy graphics embedded in to the glass like on those bridge display screens. These graphics could display stats of the test tube contents and inbuilt sensors could ‘sense’ things. I hope that makes sense.
