Contest: ENTER May/June 2022 Challenge: The TOS Trio

Here's a challenge, that's narrower in scope than most, but hopefully a fun and challenging . . . challenge.
Write a story that features Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. You can bring in other characters, but those three must be featured. It can be dramatic, funny, tragic, laid back, etc. - your choice. No word limit, but I suggest a short story rather than a novella. Deadline to submit your entry is June 26. Voting will end June 30.

Sure, any Kirk/Spock/McCoy story is fine, whether from the 1960's series, the movies era, or the JJ verse.

When I first read this I had an idea for something I've thought about for a while, though it looks like I'll not be able to get anything done on it (feels like it would be quite a mammoth task). Had to do with an alternate reality where Ilia didn't get between the V'Ger probe and Mr Spock, leading to it abducting the science officer instead...

Hm. The deadline is tomorrow. Would be a shame if there won't be any entries? Is anyone working on an entry? I did start but life got in the way. If anyone's in a similar situation, might an extended deadline help?

I know I'm late for entries, but I was feeling somewhat inspired this evening I decided to give my idea a shot and managed to pull together a little, very rough, something.

I'm quite happy for it not to be included in the voting, seeing as how I did miss the submission date, but thought it might be a fun little "what if" piece folks might enjoy reading.
