May Art Challenge- Finn

Thanks. I gave it another try. Until I'm inspired again...

Had another inspiration

The leaves and nuts are Buckeye....in honor of Neil Armstrong's native Ohio.... :)

Just remember he said "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." He did say the a, recent examinations of the recording have proven this, it's just hard to distinguish because he rushed it. And admitted to doing so.

If I may throw out some constructive criticism, I think it's too busy. Also, no flag with text on it is a great flag (including both the TNG era UFP flag and the flags of most the US States.) The more text there is and the smaller the text, the worse it gets.

I think the idea of a flag for Lake Armstrong is a great idea, but I'd hope to see a more purely graphical concept.

Keep it up!

Good points. I'm gonna work on it. I have two versions now. They aren't final, as I'm enjoying this.

I just made this one for Copernicus City- where Beverly Crusher was born

I came up with two new version- both with a darker blue background.

The first one has a less...defined image of Armstrong...

The second one utilities a single star to represent where Apollo 11 landed on the moon (southern part of the Sea of Tranquility)...and perhaps where Lake Armstrong is supposed to be...

Not sure about having the portrait. The State of Washington has a profile of George Washington on it and it looks goofy. The second one is much stronger.

Okay. I think I'm going with this one...

The second one utilities a single star to represent where Apollo 11 landed on the moon (southern part of the Sea of Tranquility)...and perhaps where Lake Armstrong is supposed to be

Blue background- represents the night sky which the moon is usually associated with, even though it can be visible in the daytime.

Yellow
- represents the determination and honor of the original Lunar settlers

White
- represents the full moon that shaped and influenced Humanity throughout the ages

Blue Star
- Honors the Apollo 11 crew including Neil Armstrong himself, and the location of the first moon landing as well as where Lake Armstrong is in the Sea of Tranquility.

I was browsing my photobucket collection and came across this, and I thought of the current contest. I think it was for one of the TNG Caption Contests years ago.
