Fleet Captain
Brought this up a while back-while I'm sure he's doing ok in Britain, especially on stage, not sure about Matt Smith's film career in the USA.
He hasn't been in any of the trailers or promos for Terminator Genesys, and Lost River was a critical flop. The Pride and Prejudice zombie movie will probably mainly appeal to a British audience.
Of course Eccleston and Tennant didn't exactly break through either post-WHO-Eccleston's mainly been doing big budget villain roles (GI Joe, Dark Is Rising, Thor) that really don't show his strengths as an actor, with some exceptions such as Heroes and the Leftovers on TV.
Tennant had the dramedy that was canceled, although like Eccleston he's going to be in the MCU, and a meh crime drama based on Broadchurch, although one of it's Netflix TV spinoffs Jessica Jones as the Purple Man.
Smith's companion Karen Gillian seems to be doing OK though, despite Selfie being cancelled, she did have a somewhat major role as the henchvillain in Guardians Of The Galaxy last summer, and has done some OK horror and comedy work as well. Her looks don't hurt either.
On that note, I wonder if Matt's appearence is a factor? Trying not to be shallow, but he does have that kind of lanky, big chin and forehead look that while perfect for the Doctor isn't exactly leading man material in shallow Hollywood.
