That's it.

I'm going to mention two of his greatest movies.

Hudson Hawk.

Blind Date.

And whether it was a mindless action film or not (again, I don't know), I don't want "Star Trek" to either be sold as one or to be made as one.

Do you?

Star Trek won't be like Transformers for the simple reason that it's geared towards a more diverse age-group and is more adult-friendly.

The only adults Transformers appeals to are those in their 20's and early-30's who are nostalgic for the 1985 cartoon. The rest of the audience is made up of teenagers and children with their parents.

Star Trek will probably be aimed towards 13-60 in general and 18-35 in particular. It won't be for kids or the "inner kid" in young adults.

et (harrison ford had a role but it mostly was cut)
splash

and garth when i went to see transformers it was pulling in a more diverse audience.
i know some of my friends in their 40's and 50's went to see it after reading some of the reviews and hearing good word of mouth.

That's too bad. Damon might have made a good kirk and have the star power to keep Paramount away from making the "young kirk" adventures a series.

as far as a 20-something kirk...oy

anyway I'm so past caring about trek that they could make it a musical comedy for all I care.

Just like "I Mudd", hey it'll be great! Star Trek: The Musical Comedy...I like.

Though I'm not surprised about Damon.

I think the only big name actor of the big three shoud be McCoy. I still think Gary Sinese would make a great Leonard H McCoy.

Simply put, every man should want to be him and every woman should want to fuck him.

He's gonna have to be Adonis on a Popsicle Stick to distract my attention from Spock, especially if Spock's played by who I think he's gonna be played by.

But that's lonstanding Trek tradition. The ladies have always preferred Spock to Kirk, and I don't see that changing in the near future...

I'll defer to your judgment. especially if our boy wins the role. ;)

I never realised women preferred Spock over Kirk. You learns something new every day.

unfortunate. Just yesterday I watched The Good Shepdard, and today was watching Ocean's Eleven. He is a good and versatile actor.

I'll email abrams and let him know I'm available for the role of Kirk on your behalf

No - I preferred Kirk and was never interested in Spock. Don't speak for everyone. My elderly spinster boss fancied Spock - say no more..... :)

And Jason Alexander is NOT an A-list type. He could never star in a big movie. His only claim to fame was playing backup to Jerry Seinfield.

Um...yeah, he was. He was an A-list TV star. All of the Seinfeld cast were when the show was on and shortly thereafter and that is when he appeared on Voyager, when he was an A-lister.

Since then, yeah, he's fallen from that status, but at the time...

Every single one of the Seinfeld alumni (besides Jerry) - including Jason Alexander - went on to try and launch shows of their own.

And every single one of them failed utterly.

"The New Adventures of Old Christine" has been renewed for a third season :p
