Guys,

(FsinZ * segment length) + (WsinZ * y)-(N * P) = 0

I would very much like to know how to rearrange this formula so that Z is the subject. I am interested in knowing how this works rather than just telling me the answer.

Guessing that it's

F * sin(Z) * segment_length + W * sin(Z) * y - N * P = 0

rewrite it as

sin(Z) * F * segment_length + sin(Z) * W * y - N * P = 0

sin(Z) * (F * segment_length + W * y) - N * P = 0

sin(Z) * (F * segment_length + W * y) = N * P

sin(Z) = (N * P) / (F * segment_length + W * y)

Z = arcsin((N * P) / (F * segment_length + W * y))

To be completely accurate, you should stick an n*2pi on there (n an arbitrary integer). And that's still only half the possible solutions.

Maths?!

*screams*

Where?!!

I always hated maths. I still got a good grade for it, but it was my least favourite subject by far...
