Massive Explosion in The Center of Oslo, Norway.

I really hope there are no more casualties. This is just terrible. :(

Id hate to burst your bubble, mate, but the count is gonna rise. The bomb went off around 15.25, that is during work hours, in the middle of the afternoon shift. If there were people in that building, there were far more than seven.

We wouldn't know how many exactly died in this attack until well into next week (plus some of the injured may die in hospital in the mean time).

Emma, 16, a youth leader at the camp on Utoeya island, described how she escaped the gunman who went on a rampage killing at least 10 people:

Brave girl..but I am sure the healing process will take time.
Can murder get anymore calculated than this?:borg::vulcan:
Death toll is now 17..I hope it wont rise any further from that.
Police found two unexploded bombs from the island:

I think this Friday was actually a public holiday in Norway and many ppl apparently left early from work..or did not go to work today at all, thus there was far less people on the buildings than normally.

Actually JRS is on to something here. Just checked and according to a norwegian calendar i have, its the holiday of Mary Magdalene on July 22nd. Now i'm not sure it that warrants a leave from work as JRS pointed out, but it definitely is a possibility. I'll call my friend and confirm it in the morning. I might be able to get some more "on scene" info out of her. In the morning. Its 2 am over her... G'night

Then hope continues. :)

Just terrible. Norway is such a nice, peaceful country...just terrible that this happened to them.... :(

For some reason, the shooting disturbs me more than the bombing. Both are ghastly, though. My thoughts are with Norway tonight.

It's fortunate that it was a pretty quiet time in the city, or the toll could have been worse. Horrific nonetheless. Amazing the damage one random nut can do.

to clarify my earlier statement: some interweb news thing said it might be islamific terreurism. seems not now.

this will totally make people vote for the Progress Party

Turns out it was a Neo-Nazi... like 95% of the commenters on the news sites seem to be.

I tried to mention that on Yahoo news, and their auto-censor asterisked out the word "Nazi" - what sort of fucking history-wiping shit is that?!
