I replayed the first half or so of Mass Effect 1 a while ago, and wanted to get back into it. Alas, it seems that EA's latest launcher changes have made the game unplayable for the moment on Linux/Steam Deck. Hopefully they get that resolved soon...
...that's very tempting. If you have a PS4 or 5, it is currently nine dollars (US) on the PlayStation Store.
And Mass Effect Andromeda isn't nearly as bad as I was expecting, though that's likely more due to the fact that it's gotten patched with many improvements. But I like what it's trying to do and evolve the gameplay and universe forward while still retaining callbacks to the original trilogy.
I think, for me, the story didn't work in Andromeda because you weren't the first to explore it. Having all the Milky Way races there and in place removed a lot of what should have been a great exploration story.
To my surprise, I'm actually finding I like ME1 better than ME2, at least for the actual gameplay.
I might suggest giving 'Sentinel' a try for ME3. Totally viable as a gunplay focused class, with the added benefit of being both very tanky, and having a very useful set of powers (warp & overload specifically) good at stripping down all three kinds of defence, all while setting up detonation combos for 'throw' in the process. A very underrated and fun class to play IMO.I did indeed cave and bought the legendary edition when it was on sale. Overall I've been really enjoying my time with it. I've finished playing ME1 and am a good way into ME2. To my surprise, I'm actually finding I like ME1 better than ME2, at least for the actual gameplay. I miss finding and customizing weapon loadouts and not having to worry about ammo counts. It didn't help that I decided to do a more biotic focused class this time, which I quickly realized I don't like as much as the raw gunplay. I'm definitely going back to just plain Soldier in ME3.

Leg Edition gives you everything, I believe. The only thing not in there is the ME1 DLC, but apparently it can be added back in via a mod.Note: this is all speaking from my vanilla ME3 experience and I never got around to playing the Legendary Edition, so I have no clue when the LE gives you access to the old pre-order/dlc weapons.
I'm quite aware that all the content aside from 'Pinnacle Station' is in there; what I meant was that I don't know at what point in the ME3 quest-line you get access to certain weapons like the Valkyrie.Leg Edition gives you everything, I believe. I liked Infiltrator just fine, though I will say it makes the combat fairly repetitive since you're basically spamming the same move over and over (see also: Vanguard.)
With Sentinel the power-set is versatile enough that you have a lot of flexibility in how to deal with things from one encounter to the next. The only limiting factor is the weight/recharge time issue, but it's perfectly viable with an assault rifle and a pistol for back-up.
The Valkyrie AR is my favourite for this class with it's balance between damage, accuracy and burst fire, but Vindicator & Mattock are fine for early game, while the Lancer is hard to argue against in the late-game.

I decided to take a break from LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, which I've been working on for a while now, and I started a new playthrough of the PS4 Tomb Raider reboot. I played it one and half times before. I was mainly replaying as a prep to read the first collection comic book follow up series, which I've had sitting on my Kindle/Comixology account unread for ages. I was a little disappointed to see that the rest of the comics are out of print and the e-books aren't available, and the physical versions is only available from third party sellers on Amazon.
