Mass Effect (1)

Er, so my point being, you'd need to have Liara and James present for the memorial scene, always, because the beam run deaths are triggered from Low EMS Destroy files only. So the minimum number of people lined up in attendance for the ritual plaque placing would be Liara, Joker, James and Samantha. You can, of course, never awaken Javik.

I really wish the designers had just a little bit more time so they could have your chosen doctor show up too. I really wish that were so.

Top of the page, so in pseudo-BSN thread tradition, here's a random picture of a Mass Effect character I found. I searched "EDI", so it's EDI. I found some other, very questionable things, even on Google safe search. But I will spare you all.

Unless you chose to take control of the Collector base in ME2, in which case your squadmates die on the run to the beam and the only option the Catalyst presents is the low EMS control ending. In that scenario (and presuming you never recruited Javik) only Joker, Samantha and Liara/James/EDI would be at the memorial.

Heh, well I'm definitely never doing a Low EMS run. The thought of ME3 not ending with that beautiful motif we recently discussed is... disgusting!

But I do really like, from a more, ahem, objective perspective, how in Low EMS Control you see a repair crew working on patching up the ship. That's neat. Also, Jacob and his girlfriend consoling a grieving woman. Nice. I like that slide more than the only other one I know of, namely the one where he's teaching a class, or... something.

^ "Some time ago, I met Shepard. That's right, Commander Shepard. The legend to whom we owe our ability to continuing building through downloadable content. Now let me tell you, she was a real fine looker. I was down in the dumps, but I thought I had a shot. So I snuck into the captain's quarters."

"Wow, sir. That's a heavy risk."

"Yes, it is. But the priiiiize..."

"And then I sexily asked Shepard if she could feel it."

"And could she?"

"She said "sure", but I felt like she was just humouring me."

"Oooooh, awkward!"

As for the PS3 version: unlike in ME2 where a new game just had all the ME1 plot flags sett to null, this time round they went to the trouble of selecting a purposely designed default set of plot flags for a non-imported Shepard. So I'm not sure if Dr. Michel is a part of that, or as you say, she shows up regardless.

I imported my Mass Effect 2 Shepard for Mass Effect 3 on the PS3, so the flags would have been null and I still meet her, she even introduced herself which implies that Shepard and Dr. Michel had never met before that point so I think she shows up regardless.

Well played, Bioware. :guffaw:

Ha, I remember that. The Dragon Age writing team seems pretty cool. I like how they actually interact with the fans on the BSN, whereas for some reason you pretty much never hear from Casey Hudson, Mac Walters, or anyone else on the Mass Effect team.

Oh man, I forgot about him. :guffaw:

I do have occasional twitter contact with the terrific Patrick Weekes, as well as Sam Hulick, who has embraced the nickname I provided for him -- Workahulick. But obviously, that sort of interaction is proactive on my part, not theirs. It's really neat how the Dragon Age team finds time to stick around, debunk odd rumors, etc.

On the Mass Effect side, mostly we just get Chris Priestly and Jessica Merizan. Priestly's funny and Merizan is a wonderfully kind lady, butI want to hear from Mac!

...I may be the only fan left who does, but still!

From what I gather both Walters and Hudson have stayed away from twitter and fan interaction in general pretty much since ME3's release. Can't say I blame them.

I think Michael Gamble tweets about Mass Effect on a fairly regular basis though.

I didn't include Twitter because I don't use it. :p

I don't recall Walters or Hudson interacting with the fans at all even after ME2's release, when the series was at its high point in terms of critical and fan appreciation.
