Marvel's "Fear Itself"

Thor does seem to be a central figure in the series overall so that wouldn't be surprising...his storyline is one of the more interesting ones for me. Kind of seems out of the blue that he's fallen from grace again right when his father returns? Lame. I'll toss in the Spider-Man Fear It's Self tie-ins along with the ones I mentioned above that I'll be getting.

I didn't see it in any of the solicitations but for an event called "Fear Itself" you'd think Man-Thing might get a one-shot like some characters get during these things.

His tagline after all is "Whoever knows Fear burns at the Man-Thing's touch".
What does a loosely sentient creature fear? If anything?

^^^
Yeah, that occured to me. Maybe that issue is a tie-in issue.
It's the only reason I'm buying Thunderbolts right now. I did enjoy seeing Man-Thing put the final kibosh on King Hyperion at the end of the current issue.

It was announced yesterday that there will be a digital tie in series...I think it's supposed to deal with the Who's Worthy promos.

I have been hearing of this Fear Itself stuff - but I'm clueless as to what it is going to be about? Is it an Avengers based thing? Or something bigger (like Secret Invasion and Civil War) or more like a phase (like Dark Reign)?

I guess I need to google this. But sometimes the two companies will drum up stuff without telling us basics. Hopefully wikipedia is my friend.

It's Marvel's first company wide event since "Secret Avengers" (no matter what some fans think) and their answer to DC's "Flashpoint" which is their big summer event.

Yeah the premise of this one is very vague so far but apparently it revolves around the Red Skull's daughter and the Asgardian God of Fear. So I'm guessing it's Cap and Thor centric.

Marvel has been extremely vague about the plot of it, same thing with DC about Flashpoint which is good to me. Yes from what we know about Fear It's Self the God of Fear has returned. Somehow Red Skull triggered the events of present day back in World War II and Sin is involved (Red Skull's daughter). Thor, Iron Man, and Steve Rogers are very much in the center of events. There was a new promo released today featuring them.

Thanks all!

I've read only a little bit of Red Skull (in the Bucky Barnes as Cap America stories). Not sure, if I encountered Sin before. Don't remember an Asgardian "God of Fear" either. So I guess this will be all new stuff for me around this year's end (when the trades start coming out).

Sin has been featured in Captain America...not sure if she's really been elsewhere lately. Yeah the first trades should be out around November/December.

Why do people say this is the first crossover since Secret Invasion? Siege was a crossover. It had a bazillion tie-ins. It involved every Avengery book. The only diff is the main series was 4 issues instead of 7.

Oh boy here we go again. Siege was an Avengers centric book, you even say that in your post Mr. Light. It was never considered a company wide crossover event.
