Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Console Exclusives?

I'm going to take it from your rolling eyes that you find this a poor business practice too.
yes

I have worked in games studio and most developers want the game to be perfect as possible but publishers want the game out the door asap. Worse thing is when there is never a patch to fix the game. Despite the promises and lies, Star trek legacy never got a patch that fixed the game on the 360. The only patch it got reworded an achievement description and introduced a graphic bug with the warp nacelles

Picked up spiderman web of shadows, not bad for £6 but Act 3 will lock up the console and turns out its common bug but there has never been a patch to fix it despite it being a old-ish game. edit. after a game install, its not locking up anymore

Publishers should be accountability for any game breaking bugs but activision don't give a shit anymore incase for Spidey WoS

I might get this game due to the mostly positive reviews, though it's not high on my priority list right now. UA1 was all right ... The controls were fine. I didn't really care for the arcade-like feel due to the linear movement (literally and story-wise), and the character renditions were just way too small even on a 40-inch LCD TV. Fortunately, UA2 is supposed to be better.

Looks like the first of the downloadable content has been revealed - Cletus Cassiday as Carnage:

Allegedly this is the first of an upcoming five pack of new characters that will be available for download on XBox 360 and PS3. Previews of the other four characters are going to be rolled out over the next few weeks.

It's fun, especially recommended if you have some friends that can play with you (either in person or online) but I wouldn't rush. Get it when you see it on sale or during one of those gaps in the release schedule where there's just nothing else to play.
