Hopefully they're just planning to ease into the production schedule by adding one new series per year -- so they'll have a season of one show in 2015, then a season each of two shows in 2016, then three in 2017, and all four in 2018.

I hope you're right about that. Anything less than seems like a poor business plan (unless it's an issue of budget).
Still, it's a shame we'll have to wait until 2019 for The Defenders.
That's what I was trying to say but you said it more concise. I was rambling a bit I suppose so it may not have seemed that's what I was trying to convey.
Apparently they've cleared this up. They're giving the shows "as long as they need" because they're not aiming for a "fall season". So it could be between 8 and 15 months per season. So Jessica Jones could be any time from the end of the year to next spring, depending on how smoothly the production goes.

I suspect budget is a part of it, although the "as long as needed" clarification is a good one as well. It's Netflix, there's no reason to think a set schedule is needed. Daredevil was originally May. It apparently didn't need as long so now it's April.
That begins said, as far as business goes, they have a lot of original shows now. Spacing them out makes some sense.
Netflix released some details for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Defenders. It's not much, but it does confirm that Jessica Jones will be out in 2015.
I'm glad they're back to predicting 2015 for Jessica Jones. Although I do take them at their word that these will be released when they're ready, not rushed to meet some arbitrary deadline.
There have been no official announcements, so I doubt anyone here knows (and, if they do, they probably can't say). I don't think he's been called Power Man in the comics for quite some time.
Yeah, from what I've seen, these days he's pretty much always called Luke Cage. Which is actually a more distinctive name than the rather generic "Power Man," I think.
I heard a good point that the name and costume were things Luke Cage openly admitted were hokey. However, as a good salesman of himself, he realized it would sell the whole "hero for hire" aspect.
Luke Cage has been Luke Cage since sometime, at least, in the early 90's IIRC.

Not such a great idea. marvel cant even make people watch agents of shield. Maybe they should take advise from dc's gotham. I would have loved to see xmen on the small screen especially after the success of heroes but that is impossible now as fox wont give up the rights to xmen.

AoS has fine ratings. Gotham is not a show I'd take any pointers. It's quite flawed in it's own ways. AoS will be getting a season 3, it's not even listed as a bubble show based on any standards used.
As for David Tennant being Killgrave I think that on the surface that looks like solid casting.
