Sounds like they are saying is they are taking some of the edge off Jessica Jones by using the mature argument. Sounds like something Disney would force on them.
That's a complete mischaracterization of what Scardapne said. 
In the comics this is what does happen with her character though.
I do wonder how they address it. I mean all this character change would have happened off screen. Plus I am not sure it makes sense that they would loose touch over the years. I mean they still all live in New York. Unless she lives off the grid like The Punisher you would think they would have lots of contact with each other over the years. Maybe not Luke Cage because the last we saw of him he was turning into a bad guy.
Yeah, I'm not sure how that'll be handled. Wait and see, I guess. IIRC, she and Luke have a baby in the comics. I imagine part of her story will be one of a recovering alcoholic.
Luke Cage has been sorely missing from the MCU. I would love to see them put him to good use in the franchise outside of the old Netflix series, which was produced before the continuity became what it is now.
