I KNEW IT!!!!

Hell, yeah! I'm thrilled to see Sadie Sink is confirmed! More of her in anything is always a good thing. I almost don't care who she's playing, but I agree it doesn't make sense for her to play Jean Grey, especially since I hope this film sticks to the street-level Spider-Man.

Following in the grand Spider-Movie tradition, as a natural redhead she will go blonde and be Gwen Stacy.
*reviews notes*

Yup, that checks out.

...although I can't imagine Sadie Sink as a blonde, but I guess the same could've been said of the other two....

Once is a grand tradition? ;)

I did always like that in the Raimi-verse they hired a blonde to be a redhead and a redhead to be a blonde.

Technically Marisa Tomei wasn't playing Uncle Ben, but that didn't stop her dying while giving Peter the 'Great Power' speech. Putting a new interesting spin on familiar elements has been the rule for this incarnation of Spidey, and I don't see any reason why they'd suddenly switch back to word perfect faithfulness to the comics.

So Gwen or Felica as a red head? Why the hell not?!

That said, after hearing Peter #3's backstory, you'd think Peter #1 would very deliberately stay way the hell away from anyone named "Gwen", for basically the same reason he chose not to reconnect with MJ and Ned.

Firestar isn't a terrible idea, but part of me feels like if they're going to introduce Gwen into the MCU, at this point she's probably going to be Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman/Ghost-Spider/Gwenpool/Whatever-Spider right from the jump, and if they're going to do a second possible love interest super/anti-hero, Black Cat is probably going to beat out Firestar if only to show up DC who can never seem to get Selina quite right.
After the success of the Spider-verse movies, relegating her back to just a civilian love interest role would seem like a let down.

Also having a potential love interest (or better yet; platonic friend of the opposite sex) already in the life would be something new for the MCU outside of Bruce and Nat's vague flirting.

Yeah, when I say I like the idea of her as Firestar, I mean the two of them being roommates/'super-friends', not love interests.

Isn't there a rumor that they're looking at a black actress to play Black Cat in the next Spider-Man movie?

Looks like MCU Peter "Has a Type"..

Agreed. I do not see them as believable love interests. Perhaps semi-suspicious . growing friends.

No surprise in your take on that.

Let's not go there.

He did, and i'm sure he will try to squirm out of that like he tried to with his "Ledger only won an Oscar for the Joker/Gay Hollywood Agenda" rant from several years ago,

I'm making an observation, and yes I still stand by what I said about Ledger. It's just like how DiCaprio didn't deserve an Oscar for fighting a CGI Bear and Sandra Bullock didn't deserve hers for her White Savior flick

Well, here's hoping it's not as gutless-fanservicey as Picard S3 was

I look forward to the deaths of several C-level MCU characters. And Vision's not so secret son, of course.
