According to scooper Daniel Richtman, again from a Patreon account, Marvel is considering Colman Domingo as a potential replacement as Kang. The rumors have become so prolific that Domingo himself was asked about it by E. T...

Is Richtman credible?

I don't know about Richtman, but Entertainment Tonight is... and though he hasn't confirmed anything, he hasn't at all closed the idea.

But interesting that the story totally omitted Fear the Walking Dead, which the Tower season not withstanding, has shown Domingo's credentials as an intelligent villain.

We can only speculate until Marvel has signed the contract or re-written the plan.

By the way -- was Kang supposed to last until Secret Wars? Or was Kang Dynasty his "real" "final battle"?

Thing is - given he's an older actor - they can sorta keep Kang by having him play Immortus and shift the focus to him.

It will feel very weird if Doom’s intro or second appearance is Secret Wars, given his roles in both the 80s and the 10s versions. That’s like Doom’s top. Once he’s gone to either he’s got no real escalation without a decade or more of simmering down and building back up.

Yeah -- it seems more likely they'd build up to that as they did with Thanos. Establish him in an FF film and maybe in a background role in some other films, showing him as a world leader of growing influence.

I know that the timeline at the MCU wiki is largely non- canonical speculation, but I believe that it is largely good speculation, given my time there long ago as a contributor, and I wanted to see where they placed the Marvel Television shows, specifically where the shows ended in regard to the blip. They place the end of Jessica Jones S3 literally the day before Infinity War begins, May 30th, 2018. Strangely, they place Punisher S2 (and Runaways S3, if you're going all in) as beginning before the blip, but ending afterwards with no acknowledgement in-story. Luke Cage took over the Harlem's Paradise nightclub on the 20th of September, 2017 and the formation of "Nelson, Murdock and Page" is placed on November 3rd of 2017, so both of those endeavors only had around 7-8 months before everything changed.

I'd prefer Doom to not be awful, like every other version of him I've seen. I don't think it matters which film he appears in first, so long as it's done well.

As for Kang . . . meh. Not overly bothered how they handle him from here on out; no version of him so far has really held my interest. I think he's one of those villains where the concept is much more interesting than the in-narrative reality. Ultron had way more charisma.

The only thing I remember seeing Colman Domingo in Fear the Walking Dead, and he was great in that. I would have no problem with him taking over as Kang.

The Fantastic Four movie is kicking off Phase 6. I wouldn't be surprised if the events of that movie lead directly into the Kang Dynasty--and if Doom is a major part of that movie and/or Secret Wars.

Yeah, he would be excellent in that role.

Ultron was carried by acting. As a character he was poorly written. I'm already more invested in Kang

Oddly enough, Doom as a villian is more interesting to me. When growing up in the 80's and 90's, comics weren't that big in the Netherlands. We'd get some stuff, but a lot of what I know about Marvel is from cartoons like the Spiderman one's, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer. Characters like Doom, Galactus, the rogue's gallery from Spiderman, I'm much more known with them than for example Thanos and Kang.

Although to a degree, I agree with @Christopher that dropping Kang just like that would be sloppy writing after building up to him like that, I also wouldn't mind if he's being dropped sooner than later. Another superstrong advanced being from another world/realm/time after Thanos is not something I need. Doom, this fellow from Earth that slowly builds up his powerbase and becomes a very serious threat is something I'm more interested in, personally.

I think one thing which Kang is currently missing is an equivalent of Thanos twatting the Hulk with ease.

It’s one thing to say “I’ve killed so many avengers, I can’t even remember which one you might be” (only then to be beaten by team comic relief in a punching match). There’s got to be a beat where this boast is backed up. And not on a variant either. He’s got to beat a main MCU powerhouse, definitively. If he doesn’t, he’s a neutered joke.
