What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

No Way Home established that Tom Hardy's Venom exists in a separate universe from the MCU, but it is part of the same multiverse. Venom temporarily crossed over to the MCU in the post-credits scene, so there's no reason it couldn't happen again, or that Tom Holland couldn't crossover too. But I can't see Holland's Spidey permanently leaving the MCU as long as the Marvel/Sony deal is still in place, he's too popular.

I don't get it. How could NWH in any way not be in the MCU?

Because there was a few months sometime after Endgame when the Marvel/Sony partnership was officially dead and Sony was going to move forward with 'Spider-man 3' as a movie completely independant from the MCU. Holland was one of the people who convinced Sony to go back to the negotiating table and make the deal that would let Holland's Spidey stay in the MCU instead.

I am wondering why they bothered having the Hardy Venom get pulled into the MCU if they weren't going to do anything with it.

If they actually don't do anything with it, then the answer is because plans change.

Same reason the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin's vault turned out to be a fake, same reason we've never again heard anything about Mac Gargan, etc, etc.

I just don't see how that would make any sense given that Holland's character was already established as an MCU denizen.

Early on in the production, they were working on a different story before the focus turned towards the Spider-Verse. Early artwork originally introduced America Chavez and with larger roles for Betty and Flash.

A week after the release of Christopher Nolan's latest which he'll also be starring in. Not so much Barbenheimer as Hollandhollander.

Shouldn't this be in the Sony thread, though?
That one largely seems to focus on non-spidey stuff, Venom, Morbius etc. The Holland ones are part of MCU continuity (and this one has a Marvel director moving sideways from Shang-Chi).

Oh, and he'll be in Avengers too, to some extent.

I guess the insane amount of money he'll be making will compensate for sending most of 2025 working round-the-clock.

We haven't seen Holland's Spider-Man since Homecoming, and we still don't know the details of what's going to be happening in the upcoming MCU movies, so it seems a bit early to be saying they weren't going to do anything with it. And really, the scene with Venom was so open ended that they don't have to follow up on it if they have other plans.

Kind of silly THAT'S how they'd create MCU Venom, when an easier and more comics-close origin would've been Peter finding the symbiote on the remains of Thanos' world he accidentally brings back with him in Endgame.

They're doing a film called Secret Wars.

They were going to have Venom appear in the final battle of No Way Home. You can also find concept art of a Black Secret Wars inspired Spider suit online.
