And we've successfully said all three choices it could be. My money's still on Hela because the other two are people I expect to be about Hemsworth's age. But you can't go wrong with talent so, regardless of which role that cast her for, it will be successful.

Yeah, I think Hela would be my preference too. For one thing, the MCU *really* needs a good villain other than Loki and to date I don't think we've had a single female antagonist in the movies. Seriously, I think between Jiaying, Lorelei, knives for fingers lady (kinda, not really) and the two red herring/almost villains that were Victoria Hand & Rosalind Price, AoS is the only part of the MCU even trying.

Wait, I forgot about Nebula in GotG...but I'd probably class her more as a henchperson than a villain in her own right.

Until the next GotG movie at least. Seemed to me, letting her escape abd giving her even more of a grudge against Gamorra leads to an expanded role. She might even go independent for her revenge.

And the way most if the MCU movies feature villains that somewhat mirror the heroes in their origin story, we can expect a female antagonist for Captain Marvel.

Huh...good point about the lack of female villains. Malekith might have had a hint of a personality if they'd made a few fanboys squeal and cast him as a woman. And if the Mandarin was going to be a fake-out, why not have the real villain be the scorned female scientist instead of generic yuppie guy?

You know now that I think about it, a lot of Marvel villains to date have been decidedly of the "white guy in a suit" persuasion. Obadiah Stane, Justin Hammer, Aldrich Killian, Darren Cross, Alexander Pierce; hell even Fisk and Kilgrave technically fall into this category.

In The Infinity Gauntlet storyline Nebula had an important role to play, it'll be interesting to see if they take in that direction.

Thor 2 was a mess in many ways, but perhaps its biggest sin was casting an actor like Eccleston, coating him in several pounds of makeup, and having about 98 percent of his dialogue be absolute gibberish.

Actually, not gibberish. They got the David J. Peterson, who worked out spoken Dothraki for Game of Thrones on TV, to design the vocabulary for what he calls Shiväisith for Thor 2.

But it would've been great for Eccleston to have more to work with than what we saw.

He can call it what he likes, but it was gibberish with subtitles and a waste of a fine actor.

Just because it's invented gibberish doesn't mean it isn't really gibberish. Certainly, from an actor's perspective, it is.

It's a shame that Carol's greatest enemies in the comics (Mystique and Rogue) are owned by FOX.

Since they almost always go for the "Evil Counterpart" type of villain for first movies, my guess is that they'll use Moonstone due to her "Dark Avengers" stint as Ms Marvel.

OK, but it means that another exception is certainly possible. E.g., someone like Yon Rogg if they're doing an origin story.

So, the Russo Brothers said there could be 67 characters in the Infinity War movies! I made a list myself and came up with 33 old characters and 7 new ones. I'm guessing the 67 number includes "Random Alien #7"?

Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, War Machine, Scarlett Witch, Falcon, The Vision, Ant Man, Black Panther, Dr Strange, Spider-Man, Winter Soldier

Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, Pepper Potts, Jane Foster, Helen Cho, General Ross, Sharon Carter, Martin Freeman

Starlord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, Groot, Thanos, Loki, Nebula, Cate Blanchett, The Collector

Adam Warlock, Black Dwarf, Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, Supergiant, Death

I'd guess any character with a speaking role is included in that.

I'm also guessing Phil Coulson is not.
