The source for this is just some random fan podcast; not exactly an inside source. Smells like pure speculation to me.

Even if the story is true, doesn't sound like a massive impediment to me. Disney could always simply just buy whichever specific actor they want to replace out of their respective contract. There's always clauses for this kind of thing.

Or they're just going to wait it out, because introducing something as massive as mutantkind into the existing MCU will take time to set up anyway. Probably via Secret Wars which is quite a ways off yet, so it's a moot concern either way.
I could see a case to be made for Dafne Keen to be asked back; perhaps even the very same version of her "Miles Moralesed" into continuity as part of 'Secret Wars'. Honestly I'd much rather have Laura be the MCU's Wolverine than watch someone struggle to escape Jackman's shadow as a new version of Logan.

While on FF-related subjects, former Sue Storm--you might know her as Jessica Alba--recently offered this opinion about the MCU

Jessica Alba Says Marvel Movies Are ‘Still Quite Caucasian’: Not Much Has Changed Since ‘Fantastic Four’ Days

It should come as no shocker that the usual suspects of social media attacked her, first with the fusillade of "whatabout" arguments (listing Black Panther/Wakanda, Sam Wilson, Monica Rambeau, Nick Fury, Luke Cage, Shang-Chi, Heimdall, Ms. Marvel, Rhodey, Mordo, Namor, et al.), then the expected suggestion that some people won't be happy until all comic heroes are "race-swapped". It never ends, nor should anyone expect it to.

Secret Invasion is being billed as a "crossover event" in an alleged plot synopsis, which isn't surprising given the subject matter, but I think this is the first time I've seen it billed as such.

So far, we know about Samuel jackson, Cobie Smulders, Ben Mendelssohn, Don Cheadle and Martin Freeman, but that doesn't exactly scream "crossover event" as yet.

Given that it's set between 'Infinity War' and 'Endgame' it doesn't leave many big name characters on the table.

Nick Fury and Maria Hill were amongst those that were dusted in between Infinity War and Endgame, so it can't be set entirely in that period.

First I've heard that. Do you have a source to back that claim?

Unless we never see the real characters, only Skrulls impersonating them.

Just remembered: The official synopsis is Nick Fury gets recalled from space. He doesn't take his space holiday until after Endgame.

Why would a Skrull impersonator have the Captain Marvel pager?

Yeah, that time period does not leave many characters on the table which would classify as a "crossover event". Or, if they debut new characters in this "in-between" film, some may wonder why they did not show up for Endgame.

You know, the Batgirl debacle makes me happy that at least Disney didn't shelve New Mutants when they bought Fox. It wasn't my cup of tea, but some people liked it and it was good for them it didn't get shelved for a tax scheme.

The She-Hulk premiere has been bumped back a day from Wednesday the 17th to Thursday the 18th. The following episodes will then drop on Thursdays.

On the plus side it's not the worst bit of streaming-related superhero news as of late.
