That end of Marvel productions deserves a second life, along with The Punisher. As I've always said, the Bernthal Punisher in a Spider-Man movie would be something to see, as the cold, serious nature of his character would be a major--and welcome--tone change for MCU Spider-Man.
I was thinking of Dumb Magician, Fishman, Birdnose, Swordgirl and a certain Jolly Green Giant. ;)

I'd be fine seeing him show up and find out his methods and attitude are utterly useless against actual Supervillains.

I would like a Defenders movie too. Cast wise it would be easy and a great way to introduce Namor.
I'd like to see the "Wants to be left alone" child like Hulk who was a staple of the Defenders when I was growing up. We've seen brute Hulk and Professor Hulk in the MCU, but not that one.

The tone of the MCU spider-man is exactly the right tone for the character.

Is there a possible alternate name for the team?
I just can't see them using Defenders name again, after the Netflix show.
I was really shocked when they used the Defenders name for the Netflix heroes, I would have expected them to save the name in case they decided to do an actual comics Defenders movie later.

But isn't the whole point of the Defenders that it's the "non-team team," just a bunch of heroes who happen to come loosely together, and has a roster as changeable as that of the Avengers?

Anyway, it was pretty clear to me that the reason they used the Defenders name was because it sounds like "Avengers." They wanted to evoke that successful franchise and imply that this was the TV equivalent.

I honestly don't think it'd be all that confusing if Marvel Studios ever made a Defenders movie. Netflix's Defenders really wasn't that much of a pop culture event and it's pretty much been forgotten already.

Besides, if they ever do another Avengers movie, it'll be with a different team than before. No reason the Defenders name couldn't be used the same way.

If they ever do a classic Defenders film, I hope it's based on Steve Gerber's run. Nebulon, the Headmen, the Elf with a gun and all the crazy stuff.

That ship has sailed. The closest the MCU ever moved toward a "wants to be left alone Hulk" was in his solo film and possibly the first Avengers movie. The MCU's PTB moved him into Overgrown Stuffed Animal Hulk zone, and there's no reason to think he will ever take on those traits from the comics--especially those published in the 70s.

A fan can dream.

I'd rather see Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin in a Spider-Man movie

I'd like both! With Spidey stuck in the middle. Maybe Daredevil can save him when he gets in over his head.

I've been waiting for a Fishman movie for a long time now.

One of the my biggest disappointments with the MCU has been how little they've filmed in NYC. New York has always been a huge part of the comics, and I wish we would get more of the real NYC in the shows and movies.

Thing is, it's pretty expensive to film there. Even Amazon with all their cash didn't film "The Boys" there and had Toronto substitute.
