Marvel All New, All Different - Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Lemme guess.... having kids would have "aged" Peter... like being married?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I finally got around to reading the first three issues of "Battle of the Atom." I'll probably get around to the other two tomorrow.

I'm actually enjoying it a lot so far, I always love it when the comics put forth an event that sounds so ridiculous to an outsider. The first chance I get I'm going to explain the premise of this event to a friend of mine just so I can see him roll his eyes and say how awful it sounds :D

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Are they going to sew Kid Briton's head back on?

Kid Frankenbriton?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

How many UK characters does Marvel have these days?

There's a character called "Kid Briton"?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Read Avengers Arena.

It's gritty and blood thirsty.

Twenty teen heroes trapped on an island by Arcade until they kill each other.

After 15 issues, Half of them are brutally dead.

:)

Kid Briton was young Brian "Captain Britain" Braddock from an alternate dimension trapped on Earth 616 (or visiting?) enrolled at the Braddock Academy where he was dating a Sociopath and sleeping with a hot blue Atlantean mistress coed.

Brian was an ass, who got what he deserved.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

It reads to me that it's Marvel UK characters not simply characters from the UK - so Dark Angel and all that crowd from the 1990s.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I didn't really follow Marvel UK. Outside of Captain Britain, the only one I recall is Death's Head.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

And Kieron Gillen loves Death's Head, so don't be surprised to see an appearance.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Mr. Sinister has apparently been teased in Kieron Gillen's Origin II. This should be more fascinating than it should be. I'm very happy that Gillen is writing this.

Also Fearless Defenders was awesome from this week...and I don't know if anyone else is currently reading it, but Deadpool is just so very good.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

X-Men #6, chapter 7 of Battle of the Atom.

I have no idea what I've just read. This story is rolling out its revelations at a stupidly lethargic pace.

The problem is that the story is playing its cards very close to its vest about the future X-Men, so we don't understand who they are or what their motivations are. This makes it difficult to understand what's going on, what the stakes are, or why we should care. So, what we have is a bunch of people we know fighting a bunch of other people we sort of maybe know over something we don't know at all.

I generally like Brian Wood as a writer (see Northlanders), but this issue was a confusing and frustrating mess.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Marvel You menace.

YOU CAN'T FOOL ME AGAIN!

There will never be an All New X-Factor 38.

Not when you can make such obvious sales with X-Factor #300.

Three years away and it's clear as day.

(Does Mutant X account towards the final count on all X-Factor?)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

eh, those costumes aren't that bad. it makes Battle of the Atom seem a bit pointless now, cause half of that event saw the X-Men teams arguing about sending the OG guys back in time.
