Yeah, doesn't seem to make much sense at the moment, does it?

We might as well consider three things confirmed at this point, then.

    1. Peter Parker will still be alive.
    2. Mary Jane Watson will still be alive.
    3. Peter Parker will not be Spider-Man.

Edited to add: And now Fialkov flat-out says "absolutely" to whether Peter Parker will be seen in the Alpha miniseries, and confirms again that the mini takes place after ASM #700. There is a bit of wiggle-room in that "absolutely," however, because the CBR interviewer asked if Parker will be seen "in any fashion." That leaves the door open to the idea of flashbacks that Slott threw out in his interview, but still doesn't seem to entirely click with how Fialkov previously described Parker's involvement in the mini.

while i'm curious as to who the new Spider-Man will be it doesn't really matter. once Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters things will just return to normal.

^ That's still two years of Spider-Man not being Peter Parker, and we know how that went last time Marvel attempted to do this. This time is a little bit different. Next month's issue is going to be extremely interesting indeed.

I don't know if anyone is reading Daredevil: End of Days, but it is really quite good. It feels like Spider-Man: Reign or Old Man Logan. It's very gritty and cold, but Bendis and Mack's writing is really good and so is the art work.

Deadpool #1 was awesome. This will be the first Deadpool ongoing series that I'll be following on a regular basis.

Iron Man #1 was also awesome...except for some parts of Greg Land's artwork, particularly his depiction of Tony himself. Kieron Gillen is perfect for this book. I honestly didn't think much of it when I was reading his interviews and plans for the book, but this is off to a great start. I haven't read any of Matt Fraction's run for a good long time as I've mentioned before...but is Pepper still Rescue?

i thought Land did petty good for this issue. but Rescue...no. Pepper destroyed that suit after it tried to kill her.

Iron Man #1 didn't impress me at all and I'll stop reading... Fraction (mostly) had a good run and I'm looking to drop titles anyway.

Which only allows for a new and improved Rescue suit at some point. All that's needed is a story.

I thought Iron Man #1 was awful. The plot was dull, the artwork was stiff an ugly, and I wont't be picking up another.

Oh boy and now we reach the "on the leash" portion of Marvel Now for me.

-All New X-Men #1 (don't frack this up Bendis)
-Amazing Spider-Man #697 (War of the Goblins continues)
-Fantastic Four #1 (don't frack this up Fraction)
    -Thor: God of Thunder #1
    -Ultimate Comics Ultimates #18
    -Wolverine and the X-Men #20
-X-Men: Legacy #1 (Legion headlines this book, I'll check it out of curiosity).

And Alpha's been ruled out, correct?

    Start the Ben Reilly rumors....again?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Alpha's ruled out thanks to the mini-series announcement. I detect a lot of theatrics and trolling going on regarding both the events of 700 and Superior Spider-Man #1 myself. For once I don't trust what Rich says. He could very well be right...he doesn't seem to care about alienating people in the business or any of that stuff.

I don't think the Ben Reiley rumours have gone away. They've just been replaced by the Miguel rumours which are more popular. I'd be happy either way. I'm still trying to figure out the "it's someone we've seen part".

Heh. That would certainly be a twist. I think Norah could be a causality. Slott has talked about needing kleenex for 700 and Norah has been a popular character since she's been introduced so who knows.

Uncanny Avengers is on a horribly delayed schedule now. Suckage.

I'm reading through a bunch of newstuff tonight including All New X-Men, X-Men Legacy, Fantastic Four, Thor: God of Thunder, and Iron Man.

Cap's new volume starts next week!

All New X-Men was pretty good IMO. the thought of Bendis writing X-Men books still makes me uneasy, but this was a solid first issue. also liked the first issue of Fantastic Four.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I've already decided to drop it for this very reason.

Quick thoughts for the week-- both Fantastic Four and All-New X-Men had solid starts, but neither really got the ball rolling story-wise, mostly just setting things up.

I was disappointed that we won't get to see the O5's reaction to the present day until next issue, but decompression shouldn't surprise me in a Bendis book. I wasn't going to buy FF, but it seems that the first arcs of Fantastic Four and FF will be intertwining, so it looks like I'm in for the first arc of FF as well.

The final arc of New Avengers has had a different artist in each issue, and all I can say about this issue is---WTF? :wtf:
