Marvel All New, All Different - Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Wolverine won't stay dead.

I'm glad they brought back Nightcrawler.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

i hate Wolverine so even just a few months without him will be fine with me. and yeah, the Inhuman/Inhumanity thing is going nowhere. i assume because Fraction left due to creative differences or whatever.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

The VanDyne/Summers child "Katie" is probably going to make it out the other end of this false timeline business in Uncanny Avengers, once everything returns to first principles.

Question...

As a 6 year old, a 16 year old or a 26 year old?

Oh... And when we see her next, will she be married to Kang?

(He used to date Antman's daughter. These things can get complicated.)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Maybe to you, I find it quite interesting. It's no worse than Peter Parker having a sister all of a sudden that we've never heard of.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

If we're talking about "Family Business" than no I have not. I have a friend who has read it though.

Edited to add: Ok, my bad. My friend just confirmed to me what you said too. Though he did say it was implied that Mary Parker might have had a second child after all.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

There's still a chance that C.I.A. operatives Richard and Mary Parker are locked up in one of the Red Scull's secret prisons making babies.

Hell, even the Chameleons fake Richard and Mary could have conceived a baby droid and hid it in the attic.

Um, wuch-u talking about Wil- "Oh, I had to have read "Spider-Man: Family Business"

Eue.

Some of us were having so much fun with the one true Superior Spider-Man, that we didn't want to dirty our hands with that second rate Amazing Spider-Man bullshit.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Hunh. That's a surprising revelation. Definitely did not see that coming!

Is Odin "alive" in the comics right now? Last I saw he was "dead" at the end of Fear Itself, right?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

No, Odin survived Fear Itself. He returned to the Asgard dimension with his brothers body and sealed it off.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Being nigh immortal, I doubt their monthly cycle is once a month.

Once a year?

Once a decade?

Once a century?

(I'm actually thinking about how difficult it is for gods to have babies, not being crude about women in general.)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I don't have an issue with the Angela thing. To be honest though most of the Original Sin reveals don't exactly excite me. The one that intrigues me the most is the Tony being involved with the Gamma Bomb explosion. Ever since "Avengers" Marvel has tied these two together which I quite like.

I'm not feeling the Silk thing from Spider-Man.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I don't have an issue with this; the mythological Odin got around a bit, so what's to say that his 616 version didn't?
The Mythological asgardians bear very little resemblance to the Marvel Comics version. It's even debatable that Odin was the King of the Gods and not just a "retcon" due to a bias in many of the primary sources.

My problem is rather they are inserting a non-Marvel character (they don't own!) into the Thor comic book mythology to make them more part of the Marvel universe. I honestly don't have the greatest faith in Aaron. Everything after his God Killer story has been dreck and he doesn't have an ability at world building. But then Marvel really has mishandled Thor after the JMS inspired relaunch. Everything from Siege, to the Fraction run to Fear Itself to Jason Aaron. It really shows they are operating at a mindset more reminiscent from the DeFalco era and haven't learned what they did wrong since.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Angela's already been a part of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' for the last several issues and she's worked out just fine there. So I have no problem with them making her even more a part of the universe by tying her into Thor.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Do they have full rights to do whatever want with Angela for as long as they want or does Neil Gaiman still have some of kind of control over what they do with her? Could he decide he doesn't like what they're doing and not let the use her anymore?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

On March 21, 2013, Comic Book Resources announced that Angela would be introduced into the Marvel Comics Universe as a major character later in the year to coincide with Neil Gaiman's return to the company.[1] BleedingCool later confirmed that Marvel Comics had completely bought the rights to Angela from Gaiman.[7]
Lock stock and barrel?

Unless someone has refuted this claim from Bleeding Cool?
