Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

So, Storm can use her wind control power to make people fly?

Claremont had her "carry" Colossus all the way to Russia once.

If she can knock over a city, then she should be able to keep some bugger up in the air for a touch without slamming them into a building face accidentally.

For Storms powers to work, I mean for this girl to be able to use those powers to fly, she needs a startling degree of invulnerability otherwise the hundred mile an hour winds that are allowing her to fly at a hundred miles an hour would snap most of the bones in her body, or her limbs in three places at the very least.

No to mention the cold.

Ororo beat Jean like once. They were matching telekenesis vs. wind with such intensity that Jean failed to notice that the ambiant tempreture was approaching -30.

If she outright just isn't tougher or denser than a regular human perhaps she is subconsciously creating electrostatic forcefields that are shielding her form impact damage and extreme temperatures?

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Those who were picking up Savage Wolverine for the Man-Thing appearance may be disappointed, but I thought that it was an interesting reveal that...

...there is more than one Man-Thing in the world.
That was probably just me....and yes I was disappointed.

At face value I'm also not fully buying into what the reveal is located in the spoiler code. Guesss I should answer in spoiler.
Barring further explanation I could accept that that is a totem of Man-Thing, a shell he left behind that seems to retain some regenative properties like the Man-Things body itself. I also note that Calvin & Cho's "notes" are that Man-Thing is currently with Thunderbolts. That could help with the 8mo explanation, meaning this story takes place sometime ago in regards to other Marvel Now stories. DC's just revealed that Swamp Thing is a legacy mantle/avatar, don't care for Man-Thing to follow suit.

I'll be curious to see if this little blurb is expanded on, further explained or ignored down the road.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Age of Ultron 6 finally gave us an idea of what the story finally is going to be about. Bendis defends the pacing of the first half of the story by saying the shock ending...

...Wolverine going back in time and killing Hank Pym before he creates Ultron...

...would have been "unearned" without the long set-up. Whatever. Maybe now we'll get somewhere with this.

I'm not reading the series, but I find that hilarious because it's well enough documented that the "long set-up" is what the story was supposed to be when it was supposed to be originally published a year ago. All Bendis has done is graft another story onto the end of something else.

News from C2E2...

Rich from Bleeding Cool reports...

It’s C2E2 any second now. which means some C2E2-related rumours… especially fiftieth anniversary announcements for the X-Men to be made on Sunday at 12.45pm.

Like Frank Cho, as we reported before working on the fiftieth anniversary project, but like Avengers Vs X-Men, doing the prologue to the big event. And then the epilogue bookend as well.

Expect to see Declan Shalvey move from Venom to the X-books.

X-Factor will be cancelled in August or September…

I’m told that Gambit is scheduled to end with issue eighteen. No idea if there’s a Marvel NOW reboot or not.

Morbius The Living Vampire may be the first of the Marvel NOW cancellations, at either issue 8 or 10.

Though the subject of cancellation rumours, I’m told that Captain Marvel is keeping on keeping on, given her planned appearance in Avengers 2, so expect that book to keep going to at least issue twenty right now.

Expect an Uncanny Avengers Annual in September and an All New X-Men Annual to follow.

The Winter Solider creative team of Latour and Klein both have new marvel work coming up, but look for a Winter Soldier relaunch for Marvel NOW 2. Could Ed Brubaker come back?

I’m hearing that the new Thunderbolts team will be familiar to current DC Comics readers…

No more news on Matt Fraction‘s Inhumans, but something tells me that may be saved until San Diego.

Surprised to see X-Factor ending. And another new "Thunderbolts" team? Not surpised to see "Winter Soldier" coming back in time for the movie.

^ I was shocked they were ending Winter Soldier in the first place.

I wasn't. The only reason it wasn't canned when Brubaker left in the first place was because of the movie announcement. Now, they can re-launch the title with a shiny, new #1 and a top-tier creative team. Hopefully Brubaker will return.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Morbius has been pretty decent, and Captain Marvel had a slow start but has been pretty good recently. I'm very curious as to what Marvel has planned for the X-Men's 50th Anniversary.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

i thought Morbius was not so good. i wanted it to be good. i want more Marvel horror comics...but i found the title very disappointing.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

Guy-- I don't know, but had the exact same thought. I hope Peter writes something else for Marvel in the near future.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I also was underwhelmed by Morbius, I gave it two issues. That just wasn't the right direction or hook for the book.

I was and wasn't surprised by Winter Soldier news. I felt it was good enough to keep going. I purely think they did the cancel JUST so they could slap a #1 on it with the movie forthcoming. As if a #1 is the ONLY way to promote a title anymore.

Haven't been following Gambit but a few guys at the LCS always had talked it up.

Not sure what to make of the comment that current DC readers will "get" the new Thunderbolts line up? So is the current TB with Red Hulk et al still going to be going on? It seems a related comment to the status of Dark Avengers would be in the mix but isn't. A bit puzzled on this one.

I hadn't thought it till I read Guy's post but now I believe that is a valid question about X-Factor.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

I was wondering from the comments if that wasn't a Suicide Squad hint? Maybe that is the direction they are planning on going with the concept now. @CaptainCraig I ended up finally dropping Thunderbolts after issue 5 :)

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

^^^
You gave TBolts more of a chance than it deserved for that opening arc.

The new artisit, Noto I think, on it makes the book look way better. Not sure if the writing has improved or not.

Re: Marvel Now/ReEvolution Ongoing Discussion (Spoilers)

^ The concept of the book was pretty interesting and I was digging the line up...just not a big fan of Daniel Way, and yeah as much as I thought the Dillon art was okay, Noto was better.
