Mario Bros. Animated Movie Coming from Illumination

Allegedly the woman is voiced by Toadstool's actress, Jeannie Elias, from the show as well.

Emphasis on allegedly. I can't find any solid proof, just people repeating the rumour.

Was in Target today and saw a whole bunch of toys. There's also a Bowser Lego set out.

Those sweet, sweet nostalgia coins!

I mean, I don't know if its nostalgia if the character is still one of the most popular video game characters in the world. Its not like Mario was a flash in the pan, he's probably the most iconic video game character of all time, and his games are still system sellers. Not that the film won't have nostalgic elements, the promotional material has definitely brought older stuff in, but I think the movie will be successful because the character has remained extremely popular worldwide for decades, not because a trailer used the song with the 90s live action Mario show.

It is for people like me who grew up playing the game on Nintendo and Super Nintendo but hasn't played since. I'm sure there are plenty of people like me.

I just watched it with my kids. I grew up with the original NES, so I suppose I had a connection to Mario. I honestly wasn't impressed. I thought the whole thing was flashy and dumb. My kids all loved it, so maybe I am just too old to enjoy it? I really enjoyed Puss in Boots a few months back, so it isn't that I don't enjoy animated fare. I just thought it was ... well, kinda stupid and corporate.

I don't know if it's an age thing, I'm in my 30s and my mom's in her 60s and we both enjoyed it.

Feel the same. Grew up with NES and SNES Mario games and have since played those games and many more Mario games including Odyssey with my son. I went to watch it. I found it kind've boring. It was an Illumination Studios kids movie so it was about what I expected. I'm not the target audience so that's fine. My 13 year old son who likes Mario games new and old enjoyed it more than I did, but didn't love it either.

How does Peach know the word, "human"? That implies the Toads know about them before hand. That explains the pipe to our world.

I watched the movie yesterday. Definitely a movie for kids and unfortunately not one that adults will get satisfaction from like they did with Minions or the Lego movie. The script is extremely lazy and does the bare minimum to move the story along. I'd rather watch the 90s version again.

I'm not so sure about that, my mom and I are both very much adults, and we both enjoyed it. And I've seen it get a very positive reaction from a lot of other adults.
