I read an article about this: it's the thing with the ink-jet cartridges all over again, the more you pay for the machine the less the updates generally are and vice versa (might just be that way here though 
)

nuvi 200, I didn't have a free update, but my maps were two years old, I went ahead and updated anyway.
I've always kept the firmware up to date, but I hadn't updated the Maps cause it was expensive, but I decided to just go ahead and do it anyway with the new 2010 Maps. I travel a lot, and this September is gonna be a LOT of travel for me, more than I've ever had in a single month.
Oh I spent the 1st 6 months of this year in the NE. I spent plenty of time there. Never before had I wan..no..DEMANDED a rental car with a death ray that much.
