If you're comparing Wil Wheaton's entirely understandable anti-gun stance with Manu Intiryami's defence of Kevin Spacey...

I'm referring to the fact that actors and other "celebrities" are alienating half of their fanbases with some of these recent tweets and comments they have been making within the last year. Whatever your stance may be, on whatever issue of the week is plaguing us in the news cycle, pissing off people that you need for your livelihood is not a wise "business" decision.

Wise? Maybe not, but there are times when personal integrity, and advocating for the rights of others, is far more important than money. Wil, like most reasonable human beings, was willing to clarify his statements when confronted by those who felt offended. We also can't travel back in time. Only make an improved forward in time.

Also, one who is 14 isn't fully cognizant of the issues surrounding sex and love. People that young are abused and taken advantage of as if they were disposable sheep. They are not shown "love" or "support", but that is often what the victim is told by the offender. Big difference. There's a reason laws of consent exist.

Under what circumstances are tolerable, for a middle aged man to actually molest or sexually assault a young teenager? None that I can think of.

When I was 15, 16, a lot of the pretty girls were with boys in their 20s who had cars and could buy alcohol. How could I not be jealous? As I got older I realised that those 23 year olds were morons who couldn't get a 23 year old girlfriend because those women could buy their own beer.

Someone in their 20s dating a teenager, is usually a person with problems.

A teenager dating someone in their twenties has won the lottery, if what they want to win is alcohol, and a single bed in a one room apartment with dirty sheets.

Forgive my directness but why did you feel compelled to post this? To warn us to disband from Manu not that many of us follow him anyway ? Kinda feels like starting drama. Ifor I have drawn the wrong conclusions, I appologize. I see newbies come here everytime Jen lein had a new rap sheet or more speculations of the Ryan/Kate cat fights. And so there is no misunderstanding, I am not defending Manu's opinion.

I got the impression, too, that she joined the site for the purpose of stirring up this issue, as she had made several comments on Manu's Twitter about it.

ETA: She's made eight total comments, six of them on this thread. She created this post on November third, and hasn't been back since November fourth, which tends to confirm my suspicions.

(so glad to be back after an absence of almost 2 weeks, not by my own act, I can tell you but well, things seem to return to normal... or almost! OUF! )

To be honest, I lately discovered that the actor behind Icheb's role (this is the only role that I know him), Manu Intiryami, had become a producer. Well, I just hope for him that he has more flair in his new role than as actor because, let's be honest, his performance as Icheb even if it was alright (tMarley McClean = Mezoti, seemed to be more refreshing and funny even if her role was quite limited) was never exceptional at point to occupy a prominent place in the casting and the other roles held by him, seem to have been quite confidential. A chance that websites such IMDb exist to inquire of Intiryami's filmography.

Anyway, making this kind of remarks in the currently tense atmosphere around sexual harassment - committed by famous people - cases, especially when all the words held by people in show-business, are scrutinized and judged - making you immediately, a good or a bad guy -, was clumsy if not stupid. I hope that in the future, Intiryami, will learn to keep his distance, in particular if he is poorly - or not at all - informed. Besides, isn't it the best way to not have problems?!
