That's an urban legend that's never been proven.

And of course there's COLONEL West from ST VI.

Who was never intended to be anything other than an Oliver North pastiche. And regardless, he wears an Admiral's insignia (which is not a comparable rank to Colonel) and a white turtleneck as opposed to the blue turtleneck worn by the supposed Marines in TFF.

Looked more blue to me.

Also, Geordi preferred using a powered shaver that was not tampered with or improved on by Data.
