Making A Great Series...

I remember seeing this last year (or one that used the same soundbites). Love it! Thanks for posting! Makes me want to re-watch.

I never get tired watching it.

If you have people in your life who don't get how good DS9 is or why they should watch it, show them this. If they still don't get it, pity them

Stunning. The music is a tad too loud, but otherwise it is stunning. I agree, this is what you can use to show people how amazing DS9 was.

^my guess is since there was already music mixed in with many of those clips, the editor had to crank his music to cover it up. The result is a trailer with music that seems a bit too loud. There is only so much one can do with a mixed down version of the episodes. :) It would be ideal to have the raw footage, or a mix of the episodes without the score. I'd certainly buy that! I'd never get anything done though because I'd be spending all of my time making my own DS9 fan edits. ;)

I'd definitely pity them should they have the misfortune to witness the abysmal likes of "Profit And Lace", "Let He Who Is Without Sin" or "Ferengi Love Songs" etc.

^From "For the Cause" to "You Are Cordially Invited", "Let He Who Is Without Sin" and "Ferengi Love Songs" are the only real clunkers. I doubt that they would take away significantly from what was the series' best run of episodes.

"Fascination", "The Muse"...

If you are going ask newcomers to judge the series based on its worst episodes, I would feel comfortable pitting Let He Who Is Without Sin against Spock's Brain, Sub Rosa, Threshold, and Precious Cargo.

My post was intended to be taken in humour - hence the..., it wasn't a challenge. There's often light-hearted ribbing on these boards. So called "Nu Trek" gets its fair share - I think there was a link to a comedy video review in the "XI+" movie forum recently. All in good fun. :techman:

I can only say, sorry DS9 fans!

You're right about Sub Rosa et al, they're not great. But I do think Spock's Brain isn't quite so bad!

As with all light-heated ribbing, it can be returned! :rommie:

huh! that was pretty good. It distilled most of the good stuff in the series, leaving out the riff raff, like most good trailer do :)

...I live in fear of someone doing a 'Sitcom edit' version of this with a laugh track.

I am reasonably certain that could be considered a crime against humanity.
