"Make $8,000 While Being A Student!"

In Australia it is illegal to sell blood, sperm or eggs or any other human tissue. They can only be donated.

Most eggs come from women who have an extra supply of eggs following them having IVF. Other eggs come from relatives (sisters, cousins etc) of the woman needing the eggs, or from a friend of the woman. Sometimes a woman will just donate because she wants someone, even a perfect stranger, to have the same joy as she did having children.

Technically, it's illegal in the US as well. The payment isn't for the eggs; it's compensation for the "donor's" time, inconvenience, and discomfort.

Of course, if it walks like a duck and goes quack...

If it was safe and non-invasive, sure, why not? I'll do it for free. They can have my cut hair and fingernails, too. And when I croak, they can have all the rest.

There is enough iguana for everyone.

Getting money for my sperm? Sure, why not? I doubt I'll have kids, so someone may as well use my sperm for something.

Hell, if I could, I'd more than willingly make a career out of it -- I'd finally have a job that I like. :p

I think that if the sperm is donated legally it is regarded in the same light as adoption and therefore no chance of a father having to pay child support.

However someone that a man fathers might want contact with him later but I think a father can veto any contact.

^ I always did wonder about that. I kept thinking, why the hell would a guy donate his sperm if he'd be on the hook for child support later?

^ Until a hundred kids show up on your doorstep demanding child support. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if that has happened before. People in America will sue anything that moves.

It would be a good real to never donate. I HATE kids! They may be cute first, but they suck up money fast. Bunch of parasites! :rommie:

Back when I was younger I might of considered it, but donating plasma was easier and paid almost as much.

Sperm donation's not for me. Every sperm is sacred, every tissue a cathedral. That's my motto. Plus, knowing how prolific I am in that department, it would be like playing Six Degrees of Locutus with my descendants. One of my Bank Babies might take a liking to a girl who reminds him of his mom and *BOOM*, 'Deliverance.' ;)

Seriously though, I'd be more inclined to donate (free) to someone I know who I can vouch for being a good person (and could perhaps allow me to stay in touch with or receive updates about the child throughout its life) rather than donate for a fee to an agency where you don't know who it's going to. I know that it might seem kind of silly to get protective of theoretical children, and I'm sure most agencies have a stringent screening process for the parent(s), but I'd prefer to have a more active role in deciding who the parents are.

""Make $8,000 While Being A Student!"" sounds like the kind of email that I get that I never look at, and always send to the Junk section.

I've seen things like $50 for sperm, but I don't know if any of it is legit or what the actual range is on payment.

The catch, I do believe, is that require you to be sexually inactive while you're donating to make sure they get as many sperm as possible.

Then again, that may have just been a FRIENDS episode.

I just read an article about this. Apparently, they only ask for two days of abstinence prior to the donation. The hard part* is actually getting accepted as a donor. Needless to say, there's a lot of sperm out there, so they only want the top-grade stuff.

Now, to comb through my internet history, because I can't for the life of me remember why I was linked to that article. My primary suspect is Dave Barry's blog.

ETA: I am very, very good.

I have an exceptionally high IQ and multiple artistic talents, in addition to beautiful blue eyes. I'm sure my sperm is worth a small fortune.

I should do this just to increase the general quality of the Human race.
