"Make $8,000 While Being A Student!"

I am not sure if l would or not sell my eggs.

I know there is alot of money made by doing this and it would have to be a specail freind close to me who cant have children and she is very deparate..

With the money sitation around it l would not know eiether like l said if there is a person close to you that you would adore money would not come into question and if it did l would say l would take your happiness first before money came into it

I.

^ I always did wonder about that. I kept thinking, why the hell would a guy donate his sperm if he'd be on the hook for child support later?

I do not believe the donor's identity is ever disclosed. Possibly when the child turns 18, but then you don't have to pay anyway.

I used to sell plasma. I don't have any issues selling my little swimmers. Hey, beer money doesn't grow on trees.

In the UK, sperm donors have the double whammy of no right to anonymity and the fact that it's illegal to pay for their 'product'.

The child support thing hasn't been tested in a court here yet either.

So do sperm donors really just donate, without any compensation? Or is there some sort of seedy underworld of sperm donation (jokes, please).

Are there sperm banks where dudes just donate, but then they have no right to anonymity and could maybe be found by a child later on and be liable for child support? Or do guys mostly donate in situations where they personally know the people involved?

I'm trying to wrap my head around how it would all work.

I also suppose I should answer my own question. I don't want to donate my eggs, because I just feel weird about putting my genetic material out there. A lot of people have mentioned personal situations where they would be willing to donate and I understand the sentiment, but I think that would be especially awkward for me. Maybe if I already had children of my own I wouldn't feel odd about that.

In Sweden, there are sperm banks run by the public hospitals, where pretty much anyone who is healthy can donate sperm. Their identity is hidden from the parents to be, but the child can get the information when he or she turns 18.

Some kind of compensation is paid, but I do not know how much. It's possible that they are phasing that out, like they are doing with blood, where it's no longer possible to get money.

In the UK any man who donates his sperm through a clinic don't have to pay any child support because in reality they aren't the father.

However if a friend asked for some sperm and you gave it to them. Then they are entitled to ask for child support from you.

I've seen things like $50 for sperm, but I don't know if any of it is legit or what the actual range is on payment.

Per Sperm?

They sometimes get around it by paying for the donor's "costs" - whatever that means.

Whether or not donor fathers have child support obligations has not been tested yet because the removal of anonymity is still fairly recent.

There is currently, however, no real logical reason beyond simple altruism (helping somebody have a child with no benefit to themselves - unless masturbating to some well-used porn is a benefit) for donating sperm in the UK.

As such, British sperm clinics often import sperm from various Scandinavian countries (except Sweden who have the same laws) to make up for the shortages as sperm donation has fallen drastically since 2005.

This has also led to so-called "fertility tourism" where women take advantage of the differing laws in Europe and travel to places like Spain where artificial insemination is easier.

That's correct - you can't even legally agree not to ask for child support.
