MAJOR earthquake in New Zealand

Hope is fading fast. It's been six days, and granted people have been pulled from rubble for longer in other quakes, but the scale of what has happened here just puts it beyond hope.

Possibly half of the buildings in the CBD will have to be destroyed, they can't be salvaged.

New Zealand just observed the 2 minutes of silence.

Very sad.

Back home now. Not as bad in my area but over on the coastline it's crewed.

One half of the thousand heritage buildings - HALF - have already been red stickered. In other words, they're coming down.

That's horrible. Not as horrible as the loss of life, but it's still a tragic loss to History.

on the chancellor .. the last i heard they must have gotten everyone out after the quake so the rescue team didnt find anyone.
it is remarkable it is still standing.

Especially after a 4.8 aftershock last night.
