Magic Towels in "Damage"?

I'm not sure it's forbidden, but I think what Angie is saying is that certain topics tend to cause an uprising; she's probably right in this is one. In addition, the board frowns on ship discussions. (Although I've noticed they let a few sneak by when it seems appropriate, which is appreciated.)

Yeah they are two different episodes but they still are looking at how Archers is coping with the mission, by putting peoples personal well being and his morals behind him in order to accompish it. Which is fine, the job needs to get done. It sets up home well, how he struggles with what he had to do.
Archer has shut himself off from people. It would've been nice before Hatchery if someone had talked with Archer about his actions (like the airlock incident) and behaviors (like neglecting friends, sleep, etc.). I think Home was a pitiful resolution. Missed opportunity, mostly because it's good drama.

I'm not sure what you mean by bringing up Archer, Reed and Tucker as giving her a wake up call or not. When Archer leaves at the time she's really losing it because she's in an utter panic about being left in command when she think's she going out of her mind. When the Captain get's back she's in less of a panic and more able to analyse the last hours, At this point she must think her self a total waste of space to everyone on the ship. Surely thats a wake up call in itself.
Really? When Archer's back on the ship, she doesn't stop right away despite time to "analyze." It sure seems trellium is her way of coping.

What do I mean by Reed, Trip and Archer giving her a wake up call? I mean in Azati Prime, Reed tells her going to save Archer is crazy and foolish. She decides to take a shuttle to go save Archer anyway. Trip in Azati Prime tells her she's gotta pull it together and what does she say? "Dismissed" and "get out." T'Pol doesn't even stop taking trellium after dreaming she's strangled Trip in Damage. That'd be enough to scare me! Instead, she takes more. Since the taking more trellium happens in Damage, after time to analyze, I'd say she's not analyzing.

It's only after her outburst with Archer and where he says, "I need you" that she's willing to kick the habit. More over, she admits her addiction to Phlox. Why do I think this? It's the very next scene. The scene before is him saying, "I need you" and the very next scene is her seeking treatment. Why is the "I need you" important? I think she's felt a bit lost; she used to be the sage counselor with a clear role and also hasn't felt so necessary. T'Pol likes to help and through her role realizes only now the error of ways. I also think the emotional plea from Archer helps, but that's a whole 'nuther topic.

Someone else should have carted her off to sick bay? Phlox?
He hasn't really seen her. I don't blame him for not knowing either; he has his hands full in Sickbay.

Maybe Tucker when she screamed at him to let her go? Yeah you're probably right but then Tucker is way to emotionally invovled in T'Pol and whitnessed her gradual decline into emotionalism during Neuro pressure for months and knows she a passionate person, and that being THAT upset about losing her friend, by now, isn't that much of an emotional leap for her. He may even suspect that it's just HIM and his presence and their situation thats the sourse of the extra agitation rather than anything that sinister.
Here's where things may get dicey, where Angie alluded we're playing with fire: I think T'Pol's very involvement with Trip was a step toward him should've realizing something was wrong. When was the last time we've ever seen a Vulcan seduce a human? Never -- oh, maybe in All Our Yesterdays, where Spock reverts to ancient Vulcan ways. We knew Spock was messed up then.

As an audience member, I knew something was wrong in Harbinger. (And its very name suggests something sinister.)

More over, Trip has lots more opportunities to realize something is wrong and doesn't leading up to Azati Prime. And in Azati Prime, he's got lots of opportunities and should be paying attention as first officer. Not only does she tell him dismissed and yell at him, but he even asks, "What's wrong with you?" And yet, Trip in Damage never follows up with T'Pol.

Trip has culpability.

Archer's in more of a position to step emotionally back and say WTF
He'll get right on that after fixing his ship, figuring out how to get it working, hearing who's missing and dead .... The dude is busy. You indicated he was pretty busy, I think -- given the scenes provided -- the man hardly has a moment to himself which is why the scene in his own cabin in the dark is so good: it's his first moment really alone with his thoughts. And man are they scary!

He's doing his job. He can't step back and ask WTF? He's too busy asking WTF about how they got in this situation and how to do get out.

Now, here's what I also think: just like Trip, Archer should've noticed somethig before. Just like Trip, he has some culpability that things with her have been amiss for a while. For example, in Azati Prime when T'Pol says unVulcanly, "I don't want you to die," Archer wheels around and seems surprised. I think he waves it off as her learning human sentiment, but shame on him. His gut was right, something's wrong with the logical Vulcan.

More over, I think things have been a little wrong for a while. He was with her on the Selaya, he's seen what trellium can do. He should've been aware.

That's the thing -- more than one person bears the brunt. Archer at least finally addresses it, though I'm disappointed it never came up for discussion again. The writers in season 4 seemed to want to bury the character development they wrote. Kinda dumb. Sweeping character development under the rug deprives the character and the audience.
