Now, these are VERY preliminary... I'm still in the sketching stage, for the most part, but thought some of you guys would like to see...

I was going with the idea that they are sharing tech with the Klingons, but they aren't copying everything exactly... that's why we have a similar kind of configuration here. This thing is also heavily inspired by the newer Valdore class, seen in Nemesis.

:)

Good stuff as usual Madman. Have an idea for ya on the nuRomulan style that might tie into TNG a little. Check out the second image on THIS page. Maybe a wing structure something like that? There are other examples on the web if you look for "box wing aircraft". I thought it might just provide some inspiration for you to work from.:bolian:

Hmm, interesting. I may go back to the drawing board, seeing some of those things.

I think I might revise my Nacelles, too. Maybe I'll have one part above, and one below. One problem that I run in to is that is seems too "wide". I'll have some more stuff up later tonight...

I had thought about a combined Klingon and Romulan invasion. :) That could help explain why the Enterprise looks so advanced, now.

It looks a little anorexic, you need to fatten it up :D I love the arc of the wings in the verticle maybe try arc'ing them forward in the horizontal too

Yeah, It does look a little thin.

After looking at more Romulan ships that aren't BoPs, I decided to build an older version of the D'Deridex cruiser. Federation ships are almost all in the same configurations, so why not Romulan ones?

Obviously, I am giong to add tons of more detail, and tweak the proportions some, but I think this is the shape I'm going to go with...

So, is it better?

Blah. :) I think I'm going to finish this one, and I might go back and finish the original one as an alternate class. I think the first one looked a little TOO Klingon.

I'll do my best to make you like this one, too. :)

Hmmmm, I like the second one quite a lot, though I wouldn't abandon the first one completely. :)

A question about the second one, any particular reason for the yellow nacelles, or is it just a WIP visual thing until you nail the textures?

Also, the two turbine like objects near the centre of the top wing seem to suggest a larger structure between the wings. Am I right, or is it just me? Any idea what you're having them as functionally wise?

I've really liked your work with the Starfleet ships, so I'm very interested to see how you invision the nuRomulan fleet to look like :) :techman:

Thanks. :)

I don't have an image up yet, but there is actually some kind of "reactor" in there, on each side of the wings... I guess kind of like their version of a "Warp Core". They glow, and stuff. :)

The yellow is just defining temporary objects. I haven't nailed down the exact shape I want for those yet, and making them stand out keeps me thinking about it.

OOooooooo!! Pretty lights!

You thought about general colours that these Romulans will use? In this kind of era, I would have thought you're almost free to come up with what you want, since the green of the D'Deridex and scout vessels isn't yet being used in-universe, and the only ship we've seen in this era (in the Prime Universe anyway) was the Bird of Prey from the TOS series.
