this is truly an amzing serise..... i just saw diamond cervass and it was excellent normally i dont care what happenes to anime charachter but what they did between klan and michael was amazing at the end

Ranka is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, getting on my nerves...

Yeah, sadly hot mecha action is greater than love triangles though those can't hurt either.

Ai-kun is a friskly little guy eh?

and yea I definitely prefer Sheryl to Ranka although the way the storyline is going I agree with it not looking like there will be a pairing at the end of this thing.

How many episodes will the series run? As mentioned above, Ranka's lack of backbone-and her constant pouting (she's fit right in on the CW's teen soap fests) has become tiresome, and part of me wishes she and green hair boy stay away permanently. I'm far more interested in this conspiracy, presidential assassination and how it all ties in with Grace's machinations.

My Source says 25 but yeah abouts in that range unless it was popular enough to get a second season.

If Fronteir follows the trends of the previous macross series, I wouldn't be too shocked if there is an OVA or two waiting for us in a year or so lol

I haven't seen ratings, but the Macross Volume 1 Blu-Ray was 1st or 2nd highest selling release in Japan. The music CD's have been selling like hotcakes for the various different releases as well.

Although I would not like to see a forced second season. However I was hoping since this was the anniversary series we might finally find out the fate of Hikaru/Minmei/Misa and the Megaroad-1 and possibly Sara Nome/Shin/Bird People aliens from Macross Zero. I suppose the latter is still possible, probably not the former since it would take up too much time with not many episodes left.

I feel that hole flash of light from Sheryl's fold crystal earring sending out a signal will somehow involve other aliens or an offshoot of the Vajra who aren't controlled by Grace's group. Which might then bring the bird people into the story. Infact maybe Ranka will discover some consciousness she can communicate with which reveals the fate of Shin or Sara or is Sara.

Not one wanted to discuss 23 and 24? Deculture!

I'm shocked because they were superb episodes.

Preview pics of the series finale are up. Episode 25 / "Your Song" airs this Thursday.

I like Ranka but what the heck is she doing? I didn't think she was that stupid or weak-willed.

Anyhow, the battle in 24 was superb, looking forward to much more flashy animated, epic goodness to come.

Yea I'm still not sure how this all is going to play out. In the beginning I thought since this was the 25th anniversary of the original series there might be some reveal about what happened to the 3 main characters from that series in Hikaru, Misa, and Minmei when they launched on Megaroad-1 never to be heard from again (as stated in other Macross shows/manga).

But now we're coming to the last episode so it doesn't look like that is going to happen unless the Zentraedi guy who plays with trains is looking for them and wants to use the universe spanning computer idea, which is a bit of a stretch.

As to the characters in Frontier, For awhile it was looking really positive for Alto/Sheryl and now things are just meh. I'm bummed because I wanted that to happen and I'm afraid Sheryl is going to succumb to her infection and die in the final episode :(

Finale thoughts!

Sheryl didn't die!!!!! YAY. Love triangle not resolved... kinda boo-ish, but with a movie coming up maybe it happens there.

There were so many awesome moments in this episode, all the action and singing. Klan micronizing and flying Michel's old Veritech and Alto using Michel's sniper rifle to finish off Grace. Seeing the giant size Battle Frontier fighting alongside the smaller Quarter and against the Battle Galaxy.

Seeing the Macross attack used. I marked out big time for that. Seeing SDF-1 back on Earth even if it was just a quick glimpse... :techman:

I still don't know what the point of seeing Bilrer looking at Minmay's picture was. When Grace controlled the universal network did he access it and find out what happened to Minmay? Is that going to be revealed in the future? Puzzeling.

I also found the final episode quite satisfying. It was actually the first of two series I finished up today, Code Geass: R2 was the other. Kinda sad to see them end, but I've a few new series lined up for the new season though so I'm good. (New Gundam 00 and Hell Girl seasons as well as several interesting prospects like Chaos Head, Ride Back, Tytania, and Shikabane Hime (Corpse Princess) Aka)

Finale thoughts!

Pacing of the final episode was just too quick for me and it kinda lacked the kind of emotional impact that a finale should have. This should have been an one hour affair. That's the only grouses I have on an otherwise excellent end chapter to the Macross saga.

I had already predicted the non-resolution of the love triangle earlier, so it didn't come as a surprise. Again, not a surprise that the big evil isn't the Vajra. I really loved how the end-fight was a team effort by Macross Quarter, Battle Frontier, Ozuma, Klan, etc...

Finally, it seems that only Grace was killed off. We don't know what happened to the other mysterious figures who were with Grace. Chances are very high that they escaped unscathed and are plotting their next move. Hopefully, the movie (or a second season please!!!) will shed more light on this.
