Macross Frontier (tv). Coming in 2008!

The Vajra has a hive mind.
The Vajra adapts to weapons after a few uses.

Omg, the Vajra are 2/3rd Borg!

Now.. if only the Vajra would start assimilating people...

A Macross first: A big brother pilot character survived the pineapple

Lol. The entire episode was a big fat raspberry at Roy Focker

I'm glad it was a fake-out even though it seems like there's a lot of that in Frontier. Fake-out moments, misleading episode titles, previews, etc...

All of the Fire Bomber songs playing in the episode I loved though. Try Again kicking in right as they indeed 'tried again' to fight the Vajra with just their melee weapons was uber.
:techman:

In my opinion: Hell no, bitch needs to die, and painfully. :klingon:

I'm thinking drawn and quartered by Valkyries.:techman:

Pretty solid plot developments with the last couple of episodes.

BTW. Episode 19/"Triangular" has aired!

Dear god that picture scares the crap out of me.....

Anyways, I Imagine Grace wont live happily ever after once the show is done. And for that, I am glad 8)

On another note, I'm pleasantly surprised that the show was able to get me to sympathize with Sheryl Nome. Nothing like a good fall from grace to make you like someone lol

Just finished episode 19. I still can't get over how the new opening has the three in ACTUAL triangles. And then this episode was called "triangular." Yes,we get it!

Episode 20 looks like it's going to be brutal. Also, in the previews
Who's the naked girl he's talking to? Is that supposed to be Klan Klan?

Did you guys know that there's a bit of a backstory to Triangler (the song not the episode).

Apparently it was the theme song of a tv movie (set in the Macross universe) which was about the original love triangle. It's kinda interesting when you see the translated lyrics and what it's all about.

Are you talking about the macross 2012 OVA thing? I dont think its from Do You Remember Love, since it dont remember hearing it.

And speaking of the Macross 2012 OVA, do any of you know if it is available in the US? Its the only one I haven't seen yet. It doesn't seem to be available in stores or through certain unspeakable means (in english at least lol)

You may have to go through unspeakable means. I had to sacrifice small farm animals to get my subbed copy. And I still don't know how just a random video store down the street from my house- -of all places- -had a DVD release of DYRL! I didn't even know it was out in R1.

Alas, be thou advised that the goddess is fickle and high maintainence though and her wrath is swift and just.;)

Wow episode 20...

figured Luca or Nanase as being the first to die. I guess Klan clinched Michel's fate with the confession. That's usually the anime kiss of death for supporting characters.

That was a pretty dark episode .

Whah, yeah, talk about depressing, I'm quite interested to see how they're going to resolve that.

I also wonder
if Ranka little amorphous green pet which actually is a Vajira larva will be on her side because she took care of it or will it be part of the hive.

I love episode 20!

Alto, Sheryl and Ranka together replayed a slightly different version of the historic Hikaru slapping Minmei scene in Macross. Minmei went on to sing and won the war. Ranka on the other hand mentally broadcast "I'm hurt" to the Vajra just before starting to sing. She ends up stirring the Vajra into a greater frenzy instead of pacifying them. It also conclusively prove that Ranka is the Vajra hive queen.

I guess it is the producers way of telling Macross fans that from this point on, the Frontier story is headed into unknown territory. No more fanservice.

Not just that moment, but
With the coup plotline not only unresolved, but Leon more or less succeeding, the show is going to get pretty interesting. I called Michel dying way back, but when Klan made her confession, I thought for sure it would be her that would bite it. His turn seemed kind of last-minute. Judging from the previews, too, next weeks episode looks to be kind of an aftermath plot, so it's got me wondering how the government will be restructured as a military dictatorship, and how SMS will fit into.

Also, did anyone find it funny when
Sheryl started singing in the bomb shelter? All I could think of was how hilarious it would be if instead of everyone clapping their hands, if someone just went "What the hell are you doing? We're in a freaking BOMB SHELTER, alien bugs just ate my family, and you want a freakin' sing a long?!" I mean, in the Macross universe, I think people spontaneously break into song whenever they get a parking ticket, so in that context I can see that from a civilization that's been saved over and over again by the power of song, why the shelter would be equipped with spotlights. Just in case...

I didn't find it that odd because I've seen it in other animes in simialr situation, but mainly because I've read and watched a lot of books or documentaries about World War Two and it was pretty common for singing to be taking place during the Blitz in public bomb shelters. Of course that usually would be more of a group thing then just one person singing, which did happen I suppose from time to time.

The most interesting thing was at the end of Sheryl's song her earring crystal seemed to resonate and send off some signal.
