Macross Frontier (tv). Coming in 2008!

Yeah, I read about that, it was pretty interesting. Especially since I own quite a few anime OSTs several of which I thought would have sold like hotcakes.

What's everyone think of the Zero-centric Episode 10?

Frontier returns this week after a one week break for the Euro Cup

Episode 11 / "Missing Birthday" is out!

I liked that #11 was an Alto focused episodes.

We've seen his true love which isn't part of the triangle.

I also liked his brother's speech on accomplishing your dreams.

Sheryl did all the right moves in getting Alto to provide protection for her trip to Gallia IV. I'm starting to feel really sorry for Ranka right about now.

Zentraedi nosebleeds may be the most disturbing thing in the history of the Macross series... lol

But forget all that.

wtf. The Macross?
:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I liked robotech as a kid but could never really get into any other macross stuff.

The original Macross is still the best contribution to the franchise.

Macross II wasn't as bad as some people make out, providing you don't sit comparing it to the original. If you do, it's always going to lose, and it does, badly.

Macross Plus, don't know, just never did it for me. The animation and music was much better than that of Macross II, but the whole thing just didn't really work IMO.

Macross 7 - Better than II, not as good as Plus, and nowhere near as good as the original.

Zero - Probably the best version since the original, up until Frontier at least.

Frontier - Can't really say until I've seen it all, but so far, so good.

I know biggest WTF in the history of the Macross franchise. All though it might not be the Macross could be a class sister.

The Macross?! What? What!? What?!!

I know it's too much to hope for...hell, I even understand that their story is best left unresolved. That the one story is finished, finished very well and doesn't deserve to have certain characters rode into the ground and then beaten with a dead horse. I get that. The Galaxy is a big place after all.

But does anyone else...think that maybe...it's the Megaroad?

Megaroad class ships aren't capable of transformation.

The preview calls the ship the original Macross and the next episode is called Memory of Global so I am stumped.

The original Macross crashed to the Earth and survived the attempted suicide run by Quamzin. It eventually become the headquarters for the fleet on the Earth. We see the Macross in the Macross Plus anime be controlled by the Sharon Apple AI and actually take off.

So we have the Macross established on the Earth as of Macross Plus. So what happened to bring it from the Earth to this alien planet since then? Odd.

I guess it could be a duplicate created for some reason, but it's definitely not the SDF-2 since that was simply a colony vessel. It wasn't until the Macross 7 type ships that they began to include colony vessels with a transformable military vessel as well.

The Megaroads can't transform? There goes my idea. I figured the reason it looks just a bit off is because we've never seen a Megaroad all transformed up.

In that case, my theory is on this being a protoculture boat. I mean, really, the SDF-1 crashed on Earth, and while Earth went through pretty much all of Space War I with that being their only real ship...the original species it belonged to didn't have more than one?

Though the "Memory of Global" thing kind of puts that out to pasture, too. Maybe he stole it? Took it to go LOOK for the Megaroad? The fold-distortions they keep talking about are actually time travel? They were on Earth all along!

...Okay, I'll stop.

Well we do, briefly, see a sister ship to the Macross's prerefit -- when she was still a supervision army gunship-- as a wreck when humanity sets out to capture the factory satellite. So it's possible that humanity salvaged that gunship and rebuilt into another SDF class ship.

The Memory of Global would imply something is going to be revealed in the next episode ya. It would be extremely bad ass if a 90 year old Global takes off in the original SDF-1 to try and track down what happened to the SDF-2 before his life comes to an end.

Would kind of be like Picard in the TNG finale.

Well episode 13 aired today and we got our answer:
The mystery SDF on the planet was the SDF-04 Clobal, flagship of the 117th research fleet. So it looks like humanity built at least some Macross Class Cruisers along with the Megaroads.
