Macross Frontier (tv). Coming in 2008!

Yes, please no. I can do without that.

Sheryl's kind of a backstabber in this episode although she doesn't seem to be doing it purposely at least. Still my opinion of her has gone down slightly, poor Ranka.

Just got around to watching 8. It was bugging me so bad that I didn't know all the back story behind the series so over the past week I went and watched all of Macross from the first series all the way to Zero. I must say, thank god this show is nothing like 7 *sigh*

Anyways back on topic, I guess it goes without saying that this was the weakest episode of the series thus far. That said, considering the fact that they had just given us one of the most epic anime episodes I have seen I suppose all can be forgiven  Even for a weak episode though it was still alot of fun. It seems like Macross Frontier and another anime called the Daughter of Tweenty Faces are shaping up to me my surprise favorites of the season.

Episode 09 / "Friendly Fire" just aired.

the animation is baaack :techman:

Loved the space battles and we get a lot of backstory on Michael. From their previous interactions it was pretty easy to see Klan and Michael has a history and Klan has a crush on him. I felt kinda bad for how he talked to her.

"If you were miclonized and I went after you I'd be called a pedophile" poor Klan :(

Michael could just be turned into a Zentraedi though, Max was a regular human and he was in the DRYL movie. Michael has to be at least part Zentraedi, look at those ears.

Looks like the next episode is Sheryl and Ranka doing a movie/tv show about the Macross Zero storyline. hah

Yep another great episode. Hopefully we will see more of Klan in the future. So far I feel like shes being incredibly under used  Im also glad to see that they are going to at least touch on the Macross Zero storyline. Who knows, maybe some of the plot will be resolved in Frontier :D ?

^Yeah agreed great episode but theydo need to include Klein Klan way more from now on. And yeah I feel so sorry for Klan, wish Michael would get of his high horse and realise that he's got an awesome girl there.

Oh and I made this from the 4th episode. Could be better but I don't have the energy to try at the moment.

Got it and it's great great stuff! Same level as her Macross Plus OST. I Am however a bit dissapointed. I haven't been able to find my favorite track from the series, it's the one that the intro background music on several of the early episodes, an orchestra playing with a lot of strings.

But still great stuff :)

Well I don't think you have anything to worry about, shows that Yoko Kanno compuses always have multiple OSTs. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex has 4, 5 if you include the Solid State Society movie soundtrack. To be honest she's kind of hit or miss with me. I liked her work on those 5 a lot as well as Cowboy Bebop, and Escaflowne but I wasn't a big fan of the Macross Plus OST.

Consider the OST acquired  I would have to say that Yoko Kanno/Gabriela Robin is up there with my favorites. The only one who I can say tops her is Yuki Kajiura (mmmm Mai-HiME/Mai-Otome *droool*)

Agreed, I like all of Kajiura's stuff quite a bit. She did the music for the movie in which my Avi comes from actually.

I have a lot of Kajiura's stuff as well. I probably have more of Kanno's and prefer her by a fair margin, but my top 3 would be Kanno/Kajiura/Tenmon.

Although Tenmon usually only works on movies by Makoto Shinkai.

My favorite Kanno soundtrack is actually Turn-A Gundam though. There's such a variation on the music in it being that Earth was in a period equal to the early 19th century, then you had the fast-tempo'd pieces for the battles and then some for the Moon society.

It also has my favorite song by Kanno (Tsuki no Mayu), which was one of the endings and the full length plays on one of the best epilogue/montage type scenes in any show I've watched.

I know, I have them all. Just would've been nice to have it on this one.

Another good episode. Unfortunately I didn't get as many...answers, as I was hoping. Guess I had my expectations too high for thsi particular episode lol. For the topics it covered though, I thought it was a fun episode.

Heh, both the leading ladies made their moves in episode 10. I liked
the Ranka/Alto kiss better.

That action scene with that wierd creature wasn't too hot though. I don't know if it was just the file I had but it was pretty jerky and undetailed and really an eyesore. :(

To say Frontier's OST is selling well is an understatement.

Today, OST 1 debuted in the the Oricon weekly rankings at #3 with 71633 units sold. It’s also fair to note that before Macross F OST 1, the last anime OST that made it to the top 3 in Oricon was the End of Evangelion soundtrack, 11 years ago.
Cheers for the Macross/Kanno/Sakamoto/May’n/Megumi/and everyone else communities.

awesome. I think the success is due to Macross being huge, but also the OST has a lot more vocal tracks then most anime OST's. They usually tend to have like an opening song, ending song, and maybe something used in the show. This is like a regular artist's album almost in that it has like 7 full songs on it.
