Luke Cage-- Marvel/Netflix

Nice! We got a release date way sooner than I was expecting to. We didn't find out about Jessica Jones' release date until relatively late in the process, IIRC.
 
Interesting teaser. I'd be more excited if they hadn't made Luke Cage significantly weaker then his comic version, and if Netflix wasn't dropping the ball with every Marvel thing they've done since DD Season 1. Still, the character was decent on JJ (basically the only character besides Kilgrave that was any good), so the show is probably worth a look, even if my opinion of Netflix's Marvel shows is very negative right now.
 
Watched the teaser.....so when did Power Man get powered up? Bullet's should sting him and where's his hair? His yellow shirt? That metal thing that used to be on his head? Sweet Christmas!

Seriously though.....this was underwhelming as far as generating interest goes, but I did like the comment about having to replace his clothes all the time :)
 
This is following on from Jessica Jones, so it's not going to be an origin story, although I'm expecting some flashbacks. I'm not expecting the tiara, but I wouldn't be surprised if we did see him in a yellow shirt at some point.

He was briefly in a yellow shirt in the first episode of JJ, when Jessica was watching him through his windows.
 
The mention of Doom brings up something I was thinking about the other day. Now that the F4 movie has come out, and bombed, how long will it be before their license could go back to Marvel?
 
It depends on whether a new movie is in production, but roughly seven years (provided we're talking about the rights lapsing).
 
I'm game. He was good on Jessica Jones, and I'm rooting for the show. If successful, I hope to see him partner up with Iron Fist. I liked the title Power Man on Luke Cage, but oh well... I can hardly wait to see this.

Or less, if Marvel and Fox managed to work out a deal like Marvel and Sony did with Spider-Man. Although I gather Marvel and Fox really don't like each other, so that doesn't seem likely.
 
Well, I was specifically addressing the rights going back to Marvel. Sony's rights are still retained by Sony. A deal could be worked out at any time to lease the rights back to Marvel. A deal could also be worked out at any time for Marvel to buy them back. But reverting back is a different animal.
 
I'm looking forward to this. I do expect at least 'A' yellow shirt or yellow as a dominant color in a shirt he wears for an episode. The tiara thing isn't ever going to happen. It might not be too much to expect a one off joke being cracked referencing the Power Man moniker.
 
Sounds good. I don't really know the much about the character, but I did like him a lot in Jessica Jones.
