I don't think Netflix has violated any canon of Fox Lucifer. It's just a continuation.

Lucifer has been putting up some great numbers for Netflix! Glad to see they're responding to the success. (And if for whatever reason it still ends with 5, at least they're paying attention to their fans here, and thinking about doing more.)
