Lucas open to returning to Star Wars if given full control

No. He ruined the prequels. Give him some creative liberties, but not control. I love the new movies and I believe giving him back the reigns is a big step backwards.

He did not do a good job with the prequels. I would not trust him to make another SW film. I would not even begin to trust the fanbase to give the man any respect if he were back in charge.

It is a disaster waiting to happen. So, naturally, it will happen. :(

I would say there is a approximately.... none at all... chance that Lucas is getting creative control back.

George Lucas had great creative vision, but was never a particularly good director or screenwriter on the Star Wars movies {edited}.
ESB was one of the best SW because it had a great creative team - a director and screenwriters who knew their business.
His ideas were good, but giving him full control would have resulted in an ESB far different from what we actually got.

What strange language. He was the prequels and the prequels were him. He didn't ruin them, he made them and you didn't like them.

Yes. Fair point, fairly made.
While I do hold a certain amount of fondness for elements of the prequels, I don't care for them as a whole. Largely because of Lucas' ham-handed story telling abilities. Everything that made the original trilogy so good was absent, in favor of green screens, clunkier dialog (and yes, much of the original trilogy dialog was clunky too) and an awkward romance that felt forced, rather than natural, simply for the sake of storytelling. IMHO, Lucas lost the ability for good storytelling somewhere along the line.

Heck yeah.
