I've realized now there are more moderate to bad Star Wars movies than good to great.
I totally disagree. For me, the good to great movies are (in in-universe chronological order instead of good to great order, because why not): Ep III, Rogue One, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX
while the bad movies would be: Ep I, II, Solo
I'm less forgiving of some of the canon side content, but movie wise the only things I can't stand are the first two prequels and Solo.
As for Lucas coming back, I never want it to happen. The guy only made one decent movie post 1983 (I don't count Indiana Jones 1 or 3 as Lucas movies), and honestly he is not the reason that the OT was great, it was the people who used his good ideas (while helping get rid of his bad ideas) to make great movies as a team.
Episodes VII and VIII are classics, and IX is really fun and ridiculously underrated. All three of them are better then any of Lucas's post RotJ work, and VII and VIII are probably better then the OT in a lot of ways. Lucas just needs to stay retired, Star Wars is doing fine with out him, regardless of the ridiculous whining about the unfairly bashed IX (which has a few big flaws but is overall a very entertaining movie, in my opinion).
