Lt Kelso

I'm sure that this has probably come up in the past (aka sorry if I'm dredging up old questions), but I was watching "where no man had gone before" and in the early bridge scenes I swear that kelso is wearing a wrist watch.

True?

It survived him being strangled.

Lee Kelso for TIMEX

"Takes a licking and keeps on ticking."

Actors do that when there's no place in the studio they feel comfortable leaving their valuables. From time to time in sci-fi and period dramas, you can see a man's wallet in the hip pocket of a character who really shouldn't have one.

In a related matter, you can see horn-rimmed eyeglasses on the Asian transporter technician in "The Cage." They're there and they're gone, creating a slight continuity error.

I believe Kirk was originally scripted to have a watch in the episode. This is probably just the actor's watch, though.

I always loved that De Kelley wore his ring onscreen.

I never noticed Kelso's watch before, proving that even after 40 years, I am still learning new things about Trek.

I recall seeing promotion photos of majel wearing a watch, but when it came to the show they were a bit more discerning... Except for this scene with kelso.

Not necessarily. Kirk was visibly wearing a watch in TWOK. He even checked it onscreen. That's just the first official time one was ever seen is all.
